I'd be concerned if they aren't going HOG wild in free agency. It might be a sign that Allen/Shannahan are having a stablizing effect on the franchise. No salary cap plus competent management means trouble for the Cowboys in the long run.

The great thing about this article that TLH wrote is that none of it is coming true. Dansby is talking to the Dolphins, Peppers is in Chicago talking about a deal. The only player who the Skins are really courting right now is Chad Clifton from the Packers. That might be a smart move on their part.

I suppose the concensus is that the Skins aren't all that close. The team was stuck in a quagmire last year between GM, Owner, and head coach. The worst part of the situation for Jim Zorn was that he was originally brought in to be an offensive coordinator. They bumped him up when no one else wanted the job.

It's like when we drafted Quincy Carter in the 2nd round and expected him to play like a high first rounder. Just because you wish it doesn't make it so.

Shannahan is a good offensive mind and that will be reflected in his team within a year or two. The defense wasn't bad last year or the year before. If they come with a similar effort, and draft QB (I'm not expecting him to play till 2011), OL, and hit on a later round RB, the team has a legitimate chance to be competitive. So they are 2 to 3 players from being competitive.

I'm not a fan of the skins, but I have respect for the talent they put on the field.

In response to the article, I think the Skin's should drop a ton of dead weight, and despite last year, I still have confidence that Campbell can not only be effective, but good. I don't think Snyder + Shannahan is a good combination. I think Snyder will push for high priced veterans, and Shannahan will draft poorly on defense. Fingers crossed on that one.

The best was watching fans take off their jerseys and try to throw them onto the field even though it was a cold day: your fans would rather freeze than wear their jerseys.

Name one good first-round draft pick the Skins have made outside the top 15 that has turned out to be any good. If the Skins don't have a gimme, they whiff hardcore on their draft pick. Even when they do have a gimme draft pick, they can whiff. Carlos Rogers is a chump and Landry got bitched out all season.
