Welcome Joe Ramirez To The Landry Hat

Everyone, let’s welcome The Landry Hat’s new contributing writer, Joe Ramirez. Thank you to everyone who applied for the position. I reviewed 23 applications to be a contributing writer. Joe shined in his writing and his knowledge of the Dallas Cowboys.

Who is Joe? Well let him tell you:

My name is Joe D. Ramirez, a resident of Central Pennsylvania. This equates to about 3 hours from Pittsburgh, 2 hours from Philadelphia, 2 hours from Washington, D.C., and 3 hours from New York. It is literally the crossroads of Cowboys loathing. It is difficult to get into a battle of wits with the fans of other teams considering they are unarmed. I am an ex-patriot of Texas having left to go to college. I was raised a Cowboys and Oilers fan, but I will never forgive the Texans franchise for beating Quincy and Co. in their inaugural game.

I’m 32 years old and became a truly loyal fan of the Cowboys in 1990 as I watched the Saints kick the ball that eliminated the Cowboys from playoff contention. I remember watching the players in the bar appear so crestfallen after only moments before experiencing exultation.

I’m an optimist when it comes to football. I absolutely love the NFL draft and I believe it to be the most optimistic day in all of football. Two afternoons, 4 beers, and 2 buckets of chicken wings, you can turn around the most moribund of franchises into a perennial contender. I tend to write in a tongue in cheek fashion, so if I just made you angry, put on your special satire glasses.

Welcome, Joe. MBIIIEffect and I are glad to have you a part of the team!

bevo... I'm from Texas, and there are a ton of Cowboys fans here, but they all tend to be ignorant of the team history, or who's even on the team. It's frustrating.

OK..let get over the Pa love..Pa sucks..Cowboys hate Pa..Ma hates Pa..Most of the time Pa hates the Cowboys..You seem to be the exception that proves the rule..

Go Cowboys..

Welcome Joe..good luck and don't suck..

Thanks Texas. I wasn't a philosophy minor because the girls were cute. In retrospect, the girls really weren't. That was a mistake. My point is, that I do enjoy a good point/counter point.

Thanks for the warm welcome Ron. Close to Lancaster - it's about 5 minutes west of Harrisburg. Before our current house, we lived in a 150ish year old house. The walls were a bit thin which probably wasn't a problem in 1900 since there weren't 5.1 1000 watt audio systems and deaf neighbors. Maybe there was the latter, but I digress.

I'm not really sure what I'll write about yet, though I'm sure I'll find my niche.

welcome Joe. Your in the heart of the enemy so I see where u need to be with our good guy winners team. Lancaster, PA. maybe? Very nice area of the country in the summer. Tons of old, old homes in the area. Not hard to find neighbors living in a 150 yr. old home.

I'd like to see more general topics on top of specific team ?s, player topics. More would surely post. I get tired of seeing off topic comments.

Joe what was/is your handle on the Hat?

Congrats Joe now we can get some more post to argue about.
