He never said that. He's saying if they win and we lose we're tied which is, with them, just as bad as being a game back.

However, how could the Skins mean just as much as the Cowboys v. Eagles game?

If the Cowboys win out it does not matter. The Skins could go 3-0, 0-3, 2-1, 1-2... It doesn't matter one bit. The Cowboys win, they're in. Nothing else matters (right now) except the Cowboys winning.

Now this isn't to say after Saturday night this article still won't have any relevance, as it very well could... But first you say the Eagles win is bad, now you say we need to watch how the Skins play. I just want to focus on the Cowboys. The Eagles winning last week allows that. I truly hope we don't make this article relevant by putting our Fate in the Redskins' hands. Now if this article was for a New York Giants blog, yeah I could see the relevance. But for right now unless the Eagles and Giants both lose, we just have to win. If they both lose we can lose, as long as it's not losing to the Eagles.

I just want to keep the focus on the Cowboys because, hopelessly I'm sure, that's what I want the organization to be doing.
