DeMarcus Ware Injury Update: Ware May Miss Two Games

AUTHOR: thelandryhat | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 9 Comments |

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware may miss two games because of a sprained neck he suffered in Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

The potential loss of Ware is huge for a Cowboys team that continues to struggle in the final month of the season.

ESPN reports that Ware will likely miss Saturday night’s showdown with the undefeated New Orleans Saints. The Cowboys must win that game to compete for a playoff spot and a potential divisional title.

Winning the NFC East was made a little less likely after the Philadelphia Eagles overpowered the New York Giants. The Eagles win gave them sole possession of first place. The Cowboys and Eagles play in the final game of the season.

Somehow, the Cowboys will have to overcome injuries and low confidence levels to reach the playoffs that eluded them last season after an embarrassing loss to the Eagles, a team the Cowboys may be playing to decide either the division winner or a playoff spot.

Victor Butler will likely replace Ware in the lineup. Butler, a rookie, has played well the few times he has gotten in a game.

someone please show me the panic button. It it time to see if we are a playoff team or not. Very simple.

D-Ware out for the biggest game of the season so we will see what this team is made of. There is nothing worse then watching espn and NFL network mention the Cowboys and the month of December. This is absolutley mind blowing becasue we have the talent to run deep into the playoffs. Did anyone else notice how unstoppable we were when we ran the ball? It seems like each drive is strictly pass or run never a good mix and JG is responsible for it. Romo is not the culprit and he never really was in the month of December. Yes he had bad games but he always put us in position to win minus the Philly game. This defense needs to get it together on 3rd down because they are the worst! It’s starting to show that we miss Hamlin at safety.

Philly winning made it less likely for us to make the playoffs? I guess by pulling against the Giants I was wrong?

The Giants own the tiebreaker, I’d rather not be tied with them. Philly being 1 game up on us puts us in the best position to win the division since we play them at the end of the year and, if we were to win, we’d take the tiebreaker and the division.

That all is only possible if the Giants are far out of it, since they own the tiebreaker.

If the Eagles and Giants win their remaining games…

If the Giants win yesterday: We win out, we get the wild card.
If Philly wins yesterday: We win out, we win the division.

We don’t really need any help from anyone (as it stands right now) to make the playoffs.

If we lose to the Saints… THEN we need help.

What is up with our blitzing, and the acre of free land roaming through the middle??? Short passes to the tight end and RB, and we are basically screwed a 3rd down stoppage

  6. David says:

    KD,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we already need help..And only a miracle in N.O. will get us a win there…Wade and JG are two lost souls right now who dont have a clue what they are doing..That goes more to JG than it does with Wade…I still think the D is playing good just not great…

  7. KD says:

We don’t need help from other teams. If we win out we’re in the division. The same wouldn’t be true had Philly won. That was my point.

It goes without being said we need all kinds of help within our own team. Mental help, physical help, outside help.

Wonder how things would have gone if Jerry’s ego hadn’t gotten in the way of Dan Reeves coming here.

Lots of questionable decisions within the franchise might not have been made the same if he were here.

  8. Justin says:

Yeah, like it’s been said. There is no “ifs” or “ands” anymore. If we win the rest of our games he got the playoffs. Hell, if we win 2 our of our next 3 games we got a good shot for AT LEAST wildcard.
