The December Dallas Cowboys Need To Surprise Critics
Uh oh. December is right around the corner and you know what that means for the Dallas Cowboys, right? You’re expecting the typical December slump for the 8-3 Cowboys?
As Tony Romo said during the press conference after the Cowboys routed the Raiders 24-7, this team has already faced its fair share of adversity. To have most players healthy for this very key stretch of games is going to help. Winning 3 out of 5 games may not be enough.
| Sun, Dec 6 | @ New York Giants | 3:15 PM | |
| Sun, Dec 13 | SAN DIEGO | 3:15 PM | |
| Sat, Dec 19 | @ New Orleans | 7:15 PM | |
| Sun, Dec 27 | @ Washington | 7:15 PM | |
| Sun, Jan 3 | PHILADELPHIA | NOON |
That just happens to be one of the toughest 5-game schedule in the NFL right now.
The Cowboys have 10 days rest before they head to New York for a divisional game with a lot on the line.
Having to play the Chargers and undefeated Saints back to back is more difficult to swallow.

November 27th, 2009 at 2:22 pmYes it is a tough schedule..but two things about that..
One we are better team than last years..and two it isn’t as hard as last seasons..
Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 27th, 2009 at 7:08 pmDid you say 11 wins WOULDN’T be enough for a playoff spot?? How do you figure that??
November 27th, 2009 at 7:14 pmas long as we can take of our divisional opponents then we should be ok.
November 27th, 2009 at 8:14 pmI am picking an upset between Washinton and Philly. Philly relys on the pass alot and are going against a good pass defense. So I think there could be a chance they could lose to the Redskins as long as they can control turnovers. I know its a long shot, but it would help us out with the division.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:52 pmAlso I might be able to forgive the Cowboys for losing the first game in the stadium if they stomp the Giants this time around. If they beat them it could easily keep the Giants from getting into the playoffs. Which would be great for all the times they run their mouths and I am sure they probaly talk a lot of trash about between us in the first game of the stadium.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:58 pmabout beating us, sorry
November 27th, 2009 at 11:59 pmDidn’t Eli write his name or something? He’s such a little tool.
And LH I’m pretty sure 11 wins will be enough, the way our division’s playing.. I think 9 games may even cut it for the playoffs but God help me if that’s all we can muster.
I like us to win @NY, @Wash, and @New Orleans. Scary thing is, that means I have to like us to beat Philly.
Well I actually like us in all those games… I just see us beating New Orleans because well, didn’t Romo beat the 12-0 colts?? It’s in his DNA.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:59 amYou ARE who we THOUGHT you were! We let you off the hook! Next time, we’ll….uh…we’ll be ready to…erm…well…who am I kidding? We’ll probably lose again, but not before scaring the piss out of you again!
Don’t look now Mister Romo, but here comes December! What can possibly go wrong?
November 29th, 2009 at 10:20 pmWhat could possibly go wrong?
Well look at everything wrong with the foreskins…
There’s a loooonnnggg list of possibilities.
November 30th, 2009 at 3:00 amReally good game though, though you guys had the eagles… Scary defense. Scary bad offense.
November 30th, 2009 at 3:02 amWe actually have a defense this year so if the offense can put points on the board I have faith our defense will do the rest. Go Cowboys!
November 30th, 2009 at 4:08 amRedskinguy your sorry QB and sorry coach screwed up my upset pick. I was pissed they had that in the bag. Your coach played to safe when they were near the goal and just settled for a field goal. Should of thrown it and made it a lot harder on Philly, but then again Jason did not look so great either. I don’t know your defense came out good, but the offense just can’t make anything happen. Redskinguy I would be scared of your team if your coach did not play so safe. You can be in the lead the whole game, but leave us just enough time to throw one TD and take the lead =).
November 30th, 2009 at 12:56 pmMan the penalties really hurt our team I don’t care what Wade says. Twice we had TDs giving to us pretty much. One was when Choice ran the Wildcat all the way to like the five, but what happened holding penalty we get a field goal out of it. Second the pass to Austin that got us close to the TD. What happens holding penalty we get nothing out of it. They beat themselves so much with just penalties.
November 30th, 2009 at 1:00 pmHey does anyone know what kind of options we have with Roy. I hope he comes through, but I don’t see it happening. So if he does not do anything this year and just turns out to be a bust what options does Jerry have. I know he signed him to a big contract so I am thinking we are stuck with him. Could we get anything for him hell maybe a low pick or two. His contract just screws it up because I don’t see anyone wanting to pay him on top of what we guarnteed him. It just seems like one big mess.
November 30th, 2009 at 1:27 pmTEXAS,
It will depend on if next year is an uncapped year? If it is he can probably cut him and not have to worry about cap ramifications..There would be no draft compensation for him at all…Im guessing they still believe he can help the club either way and keep him…
November 30th, 2009 at 5:05 pmThe only reason his huge contract screws us is because of the cap. Jerry doesn’t care about money all too much.
December 1st, 2009 at 1:42 amYeah I wish Jerry did not sign him to such a big contact without proven himself first. Miles deserves that money more than him right now. The question is when it comes time to sign Miles this year how bad is Roy’s contract going to screw things up. Miles is playing like a number one receiver. Then you have Roy that is not but making like 45 million I dont quite know the numbers. So you then have Miles agent that is probaly going to ask that Miles get the same or more. I hope Jerry pays Miles a big contract just looks like it is going to be a lot more than we should have had to.
December 1st, 2009 at 10:27 amSo lets hope it is a uncapped year =).
December 1st, 2009 at 10:29 amI don’t know that Miles deserves a HUGE contract… However we’ll be fine next year even if the cap’s the same, we’re still paying Owens’ 8 million or whatever. We could give T.O. money to Miles if we really wanted. We used existing cap room to sign DWare so that won’t hurt us. Tough thing is estimating Austin’s worth. Just because he’s better than Roy doesn’t mean he should make the same money. He’ll be a sought after Free Agent though, so I like that he and Tony are bonding outside of football.
Also I’m glad that Vegas trash isn’t being dignified over on this blog. It was a charity, it was 14 hours, and DWare was in Winstar gambling it up 3 nights later. It’s NORMAL. Get ‘em Cowboys!
December 1st, 2009 at 1:56 pmI know he might not be worth that, but like you said he will be a free agent somewhere so he could probaly get a big contract else where if Jerry don’t put out. Money talk so I have a feeling Jerry will pay him close if not more than Roy.
