Jimmy Johnson Unlikely To Coach Dallas Cowboys Again

Posted by: thelandryhat

You guys are already discussing coaching changes and I see Jimmy Johnson come up a few times. Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson was on the Texas Today Show, where he was asked about returning to coach the Cowboys.

Don’t get your hopes up.

According to what Jimmy said, he is loving his current lifestyle, which involves him talking about football a lot on television and what I suspect is drinking plenty of alcoholic beverages.

“I love doing FOX NFL Sunday, and Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, and Kurt Menefee, we all have a ball on the set and so it’s fun. So I enjoy doing that. I enjoy living in the Florida Keys, I live on the ocean as you know, I do a lot of fishing and scuba diving, so I think I’m going to stick with my lifestyle that I’ve got now.”

Johnson also said he does not believe the Cowboys have serious problems with the offense. He said the wide receivers need to step up because a lot of teams are taking Jason Witten out of the game with double coverages. This leaves the wide outs with man to man coverage oftentimes.

I’m going to say this because it needs to be said… It’s a response to your entire article:

    No freakin’ duh.

Not as a stab at you, because it’s sad that it even needed to be said, but it did. Tired of the whole JJ to Dallas thing, even more tired than a coaching change.

Wade gets a one year extension to coach until the potential lockout year.

the only reason i brought it up was that i had heard rumors about jimmy getting back with jerry about the cowboys and giving him some advice. well obviliously others have heard too, because he has been asked several times if he is considering it. so it was’nt just me. and for a while it was even considered by some a possibility. (nfl network).  my prediction is mike holmgren as a general manager front office man teaming with jerry for the draft and personel moves. then being in charge of putting together a coaching staff with holmgren running most of the football operations and partnering with stephen jones a few years down the road when jerry hangs it up. at that point i think wade would be kept on as at least a D-cord.????? i see changes next year, and jerry likes and trusts mike holmgren maybe more then anyone else out there????

You never know what could happen. Davedallasfan I don’t see Wade staying to be a D-cord when he is  a head coach. He has not exactly failed being a head coach he does have a winning record just not a playoff one. I am sure he would just find a head coaching job somewhere else instead. We have to understand that Jerry likes to be part of the show so if anyone is to coach they will have to go through that fustration. Don’t rule out Wade being here next year either unless they just blow the rest of the season which is a even chance if December is like previous Decembers. I think Stranhan and Cowher but they might be gone come the end of the season. If Wade is fired they need to go after a coach with more disipline.

This team needs a coach who is somewhere between the hard parcells and the soft wade…..Looks like shanny is out to buffalo so we will see…I cant see cowher coming here with jj..

Oh and this team needs to find an oc who will know how to utilize the skill players he has…It is so pathetic that jg can not find ways to get the ball to his best play maker in Jones….Jones would be a chris johnson or adrian peterson if he was on a team that featured him….He would put up great numbers…

I love wagering on National Football League. The bad part is that I’ve lost about $ three this month. I think the most enjoyable part is doing the research and using research to find holes in the odds.
