Move Over Patrick Crayton, It’s Miles Austin’s Turn

AUTHOR: thelandryhat | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 13 Comments |

The Dallas Cowboys will bench wide receiver Patrick Crayton and let Miles Austin make his first start of the year Sunday when the Cowboys face the Atlanta Falcons.

This is the first bold move the Cowboys coaching staff has taken so far this season. Austin is coming off a record 10 catch, 250 yard performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, a game the Cowboys barely won.

Is the move premature? Probably not. I don’t see this making a big difference with the Cowboys game plan. There have been reports that Crayton has looked much slower this season compared with prior seasons, but he has had one solid game just like Crayton.

Is one much better than the other? Not really.

Now, if the Cowboys were to bench Tony Romo, that would be shaking things up quite a bit.

Every since he talk trash about the Patriots   and  THE INFAMOUS DROP PASS IN THE PLAYOFFS ALONG WITH THE ROUTE HE GAVE UP ON IN THE SAME GAME i been waiting on his replacement about time!!!

  2. KD says:

Crayton plays better in the slot anyways. He’s overpaid but probably a little bit underrated. I like Miles more though, he played great!

  3. Austin is playing pretty well right now, and you have to go with the hot hand. He’s done everything to earn the starting spot and his speed will provide a deep threat that neither Crayton nor Roy Williams could provide. This will force defenders to back off a little, opening up more running lanes, especially when we run the draws that Jason Garrett loves so much.

Austin deserves more PT..It was only one game but it was a record game.  He took the job. The only question I have is why haven’t they given him his shot before last week?

  5. number_9 says:

Whatever happened to the training Crayton did in the offseason? Supposedly he went to the Michael Johnson speed training camp (or whatever its called) How come its not playing off??

  6. yeah, i agree. crayton should’nt look at this as a demotion, but a chance to get back into the position that he thrives in, the slot. he is better suited for it, and who knows, may get more looks coming out of it. could be a win-win for cowboys and crayton. and i think  he should have went to the micheal irvin school of speed? not sure? irvin was one hell of a wr for doing everything all-world despite not having speed.

  7. David says:

The Boys need Miles speed to take the heat off of Roy and Witten.  No one respected Craytons speed or run ability after the catch.  Now Crayton can go back to the slot Wr where he is better suited and helped the club the most.

  8. Mark says:

If wade Phillips benched Romo, he’d be fired.

  9. bevomav t says:

Mark you sir are correct. I would fire his azz myself.

Bout time we get Miles Austin in, Roy Williams on the other hand…

Crayton spent most his time getting out of bounds lol.

  12. well at least he’ playing. i realize that williams had broken ribs, and if you’ve never had broken ribs you’ll never realize how hard it is to move ,twist , bend, or reach for a ball, much less take a shot to the ribs again. i can see roy sitting, or felix, garoude with the knee problems. hell ware is playing with a stress fracture in the foot?????wow. barber is toughin it out and wrappin a broken thumb, and strappin the quad. impressive. sensabaugh has a broken thumb. davis has a broken thumb, both will play, good, because ronnie lott set the damn bar high when he said if it’s a problem, CUT ER OFF……so for me when i look at our injuries and seeing guys on the injury report, but still listed as practicing in full….that is why i think this team has a different determination from last year. that will carry us threw….. that tells me this team can and will make the playoffs. after what happened to the rest of the nfc east this last weekend, it puts us right back in the hunt for  division title.

That was lame even making that Romo comment. Is this the http://www.edwerderhat.com. now that was shaking things up.
