Champ Bailey Showed Dallas Cowboys Why New Coach May Be Needed

I think in a way there is something to thank Champ Bailey for. When you have a coaching staff that throws to the Pro Bowler 15 times, there’s going to be someone questioning that game plan.

Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett is driving me nuts. I want the guy to succeed, and I honestly would love to see him be a head coach here some day, but it won’t happen if he doesn’t figure out a better game plan against tough opponents.

What are the Cowboys doing wrong?

  • Coaches have not figured out how to use a two tight end set very well. Marty B has done nothing so far, and he is itching to make a play. Nothing goes his way.
  • Why do we throw the ball 30 to 40 times a game. There’s no reason for it. I’d be very happy with a 14 for 22 Tony Romo with one touchdown and no interceptions for 176 yards, over a 28-40 Romo with 340 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception and one fumble. Run the ball. Go from Marion, to Felix, to Marion, to Tashard. Then, just when they are ready for the run, throw a pump fake to a deep Williams. No how to use your damn players.
  • Stupid Penalties for poorly prepared teams. Enough of the bad penalties.
  • Anthony Spencer could have had a breakout game, but he missed an interception and he was called for a face mask on his first sack. He needs to do something or sit down.
  • Wade Phillips needs to put his defense in sudden death position in practice every day. The defense can play well all game and fail with the final winning drive. It has to stop.
  • Tony Romo should go to a shrink. He’s not focused and he is not handling the pressure
  • Start calling the 49ers for Michael Crabtree (hey, I know there is noway to get him now, but we could get him for 2010).
  • Call Bill Cowher now and beg.

Hey I wish I could watch a game when you make a sack , tackle, or touchdown they don't dance , jump or act like they have won the game . Just do your job , pro 's are not there because of heart it's money , do your job

And Davedallasfan, it's called a typo. You're a fucking idiot for typing in caps.

Lets listen to all of your excuses, I thought this was pro football not high school football. Romo lacks confidence, Philips is just laid back but a good coach and Garrett needs guidance come on this is the NFL this crap dont cut it.

I wonder what the excuses will be today.

I'm with ya Bevo. A QBs only as good as his receivers. "Good QBs make receivers good yada yada yada" that's total crap. This KC game is gonna be a lose-lose for Romo and the Boys though. I'd say only a 100-0 win will get him praise.

I will go back to what Babe Laufenberg said after the Broncos game. Romo doesn't trust his receivers and is hesitating.  They are not where they are supposed to be. Probably because they have played so little they don't know where "Supposed to be" is located.

Maybe they could give them a map to put on their wrist and they could when hearing the play go to that spot. Then we would only have to worry about them dropping the ball..

Or maybe his receivers blow? You'll realize Romo didn't throw to Austin after that the rest of the game, including the final play where Austin was wide open. He has no confidence in him and didn't even look for him after that.

But you're right Romo just lacks confidence in his accuracy when he throws it to Austin, not his receivers.

You'd rather believe it's Romo's fault? Well by all means do what you prefer, rather than what is correct.

Romo was throwing the ball in accurate the whole game besides the one pass to Sam Hurd. The pass to Miles Austin could have been the same problem. Its funny how Romo seems to throw these balls often and the receiver is just not there. It happened in the giants game. He always has these odd ball interceptions where the receiver is not even near the ball. So yea maybe I would rather believe it is Romo's fault since he seems to do the same dumb ass moves over and over and over.

T.E.X.A.S....Funny some guy on ESPN talks bs and you buy it..After the game, in the locker room everyone agreed that Austin didn't make the proper out move. The evidence is there to see..Champ played an out..the OC called and out and Romo threw an out..This is what was said after the game..

But by all means listen to some guy who is certain it was Romo's fault...Brother..

Is it just me or is Austin getting open but the ball is not coming his way usually. The throw that he did get in the game Romo threw in the wrong place. Also I heard on the radio today on 103.3 that Austin took alot of blame for that interception which the guy on the radio says he knows for sure that it was Romos fault. No idea but if he is open we need to get the ball in his hands so we can have his speed threat. Which I guess we will find out if he is getting open this week if he starts.

MAN THIS SHIT PISSES ME OFF, HEY EITHER STAY WITH THE TEAM OR GET THE HELL OFF THE SHIP AT THE NEXT PORT......CAROLINA NEEDS FANS TOO. SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M NOT SURE I UNDERSTAND; TEEM WAS A LEMMON-LIME SODA PRODUCT THAT WAS DISRIBUTED IN THE 60'S AND 70'S ACROSS AMERICA BY PEPSI-COLA???? THIS TEAM MAY BE MEDIOCRE, BUT YOUR JUST A DUMBASS, JOSE'PH

Ugh. This entire teem reeks of mediocrity.

yes, KD, i agree with you again. thats what i'm trying to say. it's all knee jerk. thats a great way of putting it. we're 2-2 and should, would, could be 4-0. w'eve done enough to win any game, just not enough at the right times. this team has been coached well enough, just has not executed well enough. the only problem i've had coaching wise is jason garrett's play calling, and rightfully so. it stinks and it probably cost us those 2 games? argue it if you want, but it showed on the field. what also showed on the field was "not" the lack of leadership of tony romo, or his abilities at qb, or his young age and lack of winning, but was the inability of garrett to call the right plays for the flow of the game and the problems his qb was having at the time. if the qb is hot, go with it. but if the running game is blowin it away, then run the frickin ball......but what i'm tryin to say is if we want to get this offense leveled off and playing strong again, it's back to the basics that win......running the ball, short passes to witten and working the wrs into the pass game, and smothering D pass rush. any arguemnent?

KISS MY ASS ROBERT.....YOU "KNOW" THAT?

"When you have a coaching staff that throws to the Pro Bowler 15 times"

I had to stop there. I missed the part where Wade and Garrett were out on the field taking snaps.

QBs make reads, and make decisions...

Cut it out with the knee jerking, you're only going to be pissed until Atlanta because no matter what happens Sunday at KC you're all still going to bitch.

Lol Wade Phillips a good coach? He is average he would be a good coach if he had Bill Parcells attitude and not be my friend attitude. Garrett is only good with the when he has weapons to make him look good time to time. Everyone needs to stop complaining and let Romo go back to Romo let him get out of the pocket and make things happen. He only needs to be playing safe after he has the lead. As far as throwing to Witten we cant rely on him like we did before. That was a mistake Romo and Garrett already have done and it back fired. Our receivers are getting open its just we all have Romo playing safe he is scared to throw it now. We ran the ball this week and it didnt even get the job done. Im sorry but I will say it again I dont see us winning a Super Bowl with a laid back coaching staff. Jimmy Johnson would get in guys face that were 10 times his size when they screwed up. This team has too many young players they are like kids and when your kids screw up you get onto them then they fix that problem its not rocket science.

"No how to use your damn players."

I believe the word you were trying to put in there was "Know."  Figures another ignorant Cowboys fan showing their true colors.

I said this before and I'm going to say it again. Jason Garrett needs Tony Sporano back. When Sporano was here were scoring points and shoving the ball at the defense's throats. now once the offence gets into the red zone Garrett doesn't know what to do. ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

hey bbk go to burger king that will solve all your problems. is'nt that's what's on your mind anyway with the bbk handle and worrying about dinner? romo has heart or he would'nt be where he is to begin with. wade is a good coach and garrett knows the game and needs to get into better flow with his offense and play calling to the strength of what works......the run and witten. when he does that we will win. he has put way to much on the passing game and romo.....that is why romo is floundering right now. the running game and passes to witten across the middle will open everything else up. we all know this and so does he. when that happens it will show the results. thats my story and i'm stickin to it.

its not all romos fault..remember this is a team not just romo vs the nfl..had spencer caught the ball it wouldve  been an int, if he had kept his hands out of the facemask of the broncos player we wouldve been good. too many Ifs guys..this team needs to help each other out and thats final..our O isnt what it used to be..romo was under pressure every single game this season..big flozel isnt what he used to be..he hasnt been able to stop anybody...

I am totally sick of Romo and his no heart, Wade Philips is a pussy and Jason Garrett has no idea what is going on. Wake up Jerry you have all the talent in the world just no heart on your team, cut your losses lets get back to the superbowl. Just as well have me coaching your team at least I could quit thinking about what I am going to have for dinner tonight.

cowher, shannahan, schottenheimer.  jerrys got the money to bribe one of them

Crabtree finally signed with the 49ers so there goes that idea. Phillips and Garrett need to get it together or they have got to go.

The team effort makes our stars shine. Outstanding effort by the entire team.

Felix cannot stay healthy, trade him now, while you can get value for him, if you wait, he will only get hurt again and be worth less....

Our secret weapon is Felix.

Lol secret weapon I wish.

connor..Todd Archer of DMN said they sent 8 men at the QB..That meant with 3 receivers in the game, they all had single coverage. Combine that with the knowledge about their blitz and the Broncos basically knew where the ball was coming from..

I also watched the replay and all receivers were slanting to the middle of the field.  Which meant they were all coming toward each other..That makes no sense.

This is the second loss where the last pass thrown was toward Hurd. Do the Cowboys think he is some kind of secret weapon?

From what I've heard, cause I haven't rewatched the game, the reason they threw to Hurd was because they were blitzing from that side and he was in single coverage. Now that doesn't excuse the fact that they did the same thing twice.  If the Cowboys keep getting penalties and 3rd and longs, then it won't matter if they throw to a pro bowler all season long.

Bevomav what I thought was stupid is Hurd is still new to the NFL compared to veteran like Bailey. Why did we not look toward Crayton to force a pass like that. He has more experience than Hurd at these times. Then we go and do the same play twice to Hurd??? Also we should have stayed 4-3 and maybe we would have Roy still since he was alot better in that scheme.

Couple of things...

Dallas Morning News said they threw at Champ 18 times..

Last play of the game..
WR..Ausin, Crayton and Hurd. Why was Witten blocking and MartyB on the bench? It gets worse. The Broncos rushed 8 men. Romo had no time to go to a second receiver. I guess that is Romo's fault.

I am done with the 3-4 if it means putting Spencer in coverage. I watch Monday night while Green Bay did the same with their best rusher..Favre ate the alive..

What they need to do with Romo is quit coaching him..Let him be Romo, move him around some. Quit trying to make him Dan Marino. He is mobile and throws well moving..Oh yea and go get Crabtree would be nice..

I thought week 6 was the trade deadline? So why wouldent you be able to get Crabtree? We should consider a new coach if this doesnt change starting after our bye I wont take Kansas City as a changer.
