Marion Barber In, Felix Jones Out For Denver Game

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the press today that Marion Barber is expected to play Sunday against the 3-0 Denver Broncos. Felix Jones will not play.

Jones injured his knee and quad during the game against Carolina. His durability is becoming a problem for the Cowboys, who  are tough to stop when Jones rushes for an average of 10 yards a carry.

The Broncos are definitely worried about stopping the Cowboys run, though. The three-headed monster leads the league in rushing, with almost 200 yards per game.

Brian Dawkins said it won’t be easy containing the Cowboys running game.

“It is going to be a challenge for all of us, not just the guys up front, to make sure that that running attack doesn’t get going.”

Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels shows concern about facing the Cowboys.

“Some of the holes that are opened, not sure I’ll see the rest of the year,” he said. “There’s plays the back doesn’t get touched, he’s 25 yards into the secondary.”

Felix jones is actually 220 pounds and  is the same size if not bigger then Barber. Felix has put on some mass during the offseason to be able to handle more carries. I hope he doesnt wind up like one of those amazing players who's always hurt.

All im gonna say is about Felix Jones is 10.1 yards a carry!! Hot Damn!

well, i agree with you guys, he never had any injury problems in college, but you don't play Eastern Mississippi states in this league. reggie bush said the exact same thing. when he used to be able to juke his way out of a tackle, he's now getting wrapped up while he's thinking about making a move. the speed of the game is threefold. and the hitting is extreme in comparison. all i can think about is when emmitt smith once said getting hit hard in the nfl is like getting in a car accident every play? think about that impact from a 8-10 game season to a 16 game season for these guys. it's like playing 2 season for the first couple of years. matt forte said, " i thought we were done after thanks giving last year, heh thats when the real season started and i was beat." bigger faster stronger and better.....best of the best. thats what hese guys see now. thats why so many heisman trophy winners end there ride at the door.

Bevomav I agree with you he never was injured and had a good workload while he was in Arkansas. What I want to know is what happened to Barber hard hits thats he use to give some guys. Its not that I want to see them I think its what the offense needs sometimes. He use to motivate this team with his big hits.

The fack that they are not usual injuries is what gives me hope..Freak injuries happen and I think these will pass..

In HS and at U of A he was never hurt so he doesn't seem to be injury prone. Time will tell but for now he will be fine.

BTW..His injury last season was made worse because he tried to come back too early..at least that is what I remember..and I could be wrong..

yeah,he seems to tease us and then when we think it'll be huge, he's hurt. i guess thats the thing when your're playing at 195-210 at running back. that position is made for 220 plus. many will argue it but the stats and history are slim for those under it. it's one of the most demanding, if not thee most in the game. i think we'll see this out of him for his career. again i say that is why tom landry knew what he had in tony dorsett and knew how-when-where- and why to use him. he's not earl campbell, but can be just as effective in everygiven situation. PRAY, just as tom landry would say. it's probably the most effective coach method used.

Man I love Felix but I am worried about him. Every injury he has got have been nothing. The tackle he was hurt on Monday was a regular hit and he fell normal. When he hurt himself last year in AZ it was a non contact injury. I hope he is not one of these guys like Terry Glenn that just plays out of his mind but he misses half the year every season. Lets hope this is it for awhile. I know he is frustrated Monday was his chance to show everybody (non cowboy fans) what he has and he gave everybody a little taste and then he was hurt.
