Cowboys’ top draft pick Jason Williams made it through a full practice yesterday, his first since a high ankle sprain in the third preseason game against the 49ers.
Williams was expected to miss 4-6 weeks with the injury. Give some credit to Dallas’ training staff, because he made it back in just over four weeks.
Williams’ participation in practice came as a surprise to Wade Phillips.
“He’s come back a lot sooner from the high ankle sprain than we thought he would and did pretty well today,” Phillips said.
Nice. With a healthy Williams, maybe we can shop disappointing middle linebacker Bobby Carpenter around and possibly get a seventh-round pick.
