Dallas Cowboys Leads Bucs 13-7 at Halftime

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Tony Romo has looked off, and the Dallas Cowboys secondary has looked questionable in a 13-7 lead against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Cadillac Williams is running all over the Cowboys defense. A late-game pass to Miles Austin and a nifty run down the sidelines scored the Cowboys only touchdown. Nick Folks is 2-2 in field goals. Terence Newman was beat on a long ball with 17 seconds left, and then Leftwich missed a wide open receiver in the touchdown, all before the missed field goal from 45 yards. DeMarcus Ware was injured early, a possibly stinger after a numbing hit [...]

Dallas Cowboys Injury Report

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

In this week’s Dallas Cowboys injury report, you’ll see a discouraging sign in that the top three wide receivers all have some problem: WR Miles Austin – hamstring – He should be able to play this week. LB Curtis Johnson – hamstring-Ruled out for today. WR Kevin Ogletree – eye – He had a great preseason before an eye contusion knocked him out. He’s expected to be fine for Sunday. S Michael Hamlin – arm – He broke his arm and will miss probably 5 weeks. CB Alan Ball – concussion- He practiced this last week. He’s the fourth cornerback [...]

Will Dallas Cowboys Beat Tampa Bay?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys should beat Tampa Bay, led by quarterback Byron Leftwich. Both teams were battling for a playoff spot last season and the Cowboys came through with a clutch 13-9 win, even with noodle-arm Brad Johnson at quarterback and an anemic offense from both teams. This year, it’s  a lot different. No Terrell Owens. No Joey Galloway. Former Cowboys and current mental case Antonio Bryant has a bum knee. And we have no clue how the Tony Romo-Roy Williams connection is going to work. It doesn’t matter. The Cowboys have the superior rushing game, and to win they will [...]

Goodbye, Isaiah Stanback

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 19 Comments

Isaiah Stanback was finally released by the Dallas Cowboys. Call it unbelievable, but I cannot recall a player given so much time and so many chances to perform. Stanback wasn’t highly touted out of college. He was selected in the fourth round, after an average career with the Washington Huskies. His speed was attractive. He came to the Cowboys, who wanted to use him as a wide receiver. For three years we saw nothing from the guy. No touchdowns. No kick returns. No acrobatic catches. For three years we watched Stanback sit the bench with injuries and play poorly in [...]

Dallas Cowboys No Longer Dealing With Locker Room Mess

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Matt Mosley has an interesting story here that talks about how the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room is no longer fodder for the press. Terrell Owens is gone. Pacman Jones is gone. Tank Johnson is gone. Greg Ellis is gone. When Tony Romo and Owens had their press conferences, more than 50 reporters would stack the room to hear what controversy they could light up from their words. Now, more reporters are showing up for Orlando Scandrick’s press conference instead of Romo’s. That’s because Scandrick and former first rounder Mike Jenkins are battling it out for the starting cornerback spot opposite [...]

Did Jesse Holleywood Holley Secure A Roster Spot?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

Did “4th and Long” reality television show winner Jesse Holley secure a spot on the Dallas Cowboys with his game-winning 82-yard punt return last night against the Minnesota Vikings? Make what you will of it, the Cowboys desperately need some attack on special teams. Felix Jones showed some promise last year but it is not clear if the Cowboys will use him at that capacity. Jesse Holley is a true underdog. Rookie Kevin Ogletree had another touchdown catch. Two Cowboys returned interceptions for touchdowns after the Vikings stormed out to a 21-7 lead. The game looked to be over until [...]

Is DeSean Jackson The Best Wide Receiver In NFC East?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 18 Comments

DC Pro Sports Report says Philadelphia Eagles sophmore wide receiver DeSean Jackson is the best in the NFC East. Really? I agree that the position is not the strongest one in the division. Certainly there are a number of very good running backs. But the best all around catcher has to go to Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. He may not be a wide receiver but he’s the best in the NFC East at catching the ball and getting yards after the catch. I will also argue that Santana Moss is better, albeit slightly, than Jackson. What DC Sports [...]

Peter King: NFC North is the New “Power Division” in NFL

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Written by theMBIIIeffect I have a friend who is a rabid, unrelenting Minnesota Vikings fan. He’s convinced that Adrian Peterson is actually Jesus draped in purple, their defense could stop the plummeting economy and that Brett Favre will lead them to the Super Bowl. Well, he isn’t that much of a homer, but you get my point. On most points, I agree with him. AP is the best back in the league, they have a pretty good defense and Favre could learn to be a game-manager who can complete passes when called upon. We know this system works, as the [...]
