Martellus Bennett Says Hand is Fine

Martellus Bennett is one of the more active–if not the most active–Dallas Cowboys on Twitter. In practice this week, he was hit hard by cornerback Terence Newman, and it wasn’t even supposed to be full contact.

Bennett held on to the ball and actually fell in the endzone for a score. He vowed revenge on Newman, who for once seems 100 percent healthy.

A healthy Newman means a lot to the Dallas Cowboys after last season when we saw two rookies get considerable playing time.

Bennett tweeted that he’s fine and ready to go.

I'd like to see Holley with the Star on his helmet Sundays. He has a tremendous upside with heart and character all over him. The camp will tell us who deserves the spot, but the special teams play favors a few others like Stanback and Jefferson. Don't count out a Michael Irvin protege.... "Holley-wood" in Texas!

it's the heat......causes cramps in the muscles. they'll be fine. i think the boys should bring in matt jones as a 5 wr? but that's just me. stanback can't stay healthy??? jerrerson has more exp. johnson=speed? holley? i like holley.

Who do you guys think will take the 5th spot at wide receiver?

Stanback, Ogletree, Jefferson, Johnson, someone else?

I think Ogletree will end up on the practice squad as he has impressed enough (great name too, Maybe the Sierra Club will ask him to be a spokesman) ;)

Thank god... they though Jenkins had a high ankle sprain ... but it is a lower ankle sprain!!!!! and he is Day to day.... no word on T-NEW yet... but i think it is minor

First Jenkins sprains his ankle.... Then T-NEW gets a slight groin injury..... WTF!!!!

Have to hope we HAVE a run based offense. Garrett has iterated several times he believes in a balanced offense. Which makes me think he's saying "Guys, I want to PASS please please please can I can I can I please?"

dan is right about bennett. we will see alot of 2 tes sets this year. that was the key in the passing game to get rid of owens. it also clears the middle of the D out of lbs and safes to help cover that middle of the field with both bennett and witten roaming. big targets! opens the outside for single coverage. you can disquise passing packages for the run and have extra blocking on the field for the run. i think thats why we saw so much of the draw play last year, because it is a good way to let the D think pass and then get your blocking in place for that quick hit with say felix and his tremendous speed? we'll see much more of that this year and owens did not really fit into that style of offense if your demanding the ball 20 times a game. you tend to disrupt the whole scheme. 2 tes are the way to go with a run based offense.
