Greg Ellis Getting Traded?

There’s a hot rumor out there now that Greg Ellis might be traded before the season begins. Ellis, although a crybaby, is a decent performer and has done well for the Dallas Cowboys, especially coming off some serious injuries.

If Ellis is traded, it paves the way for Anthony Spencer to be the rook along side DeMarcus Ware. According to news stories, the Cowboys have put the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots on their Ellis list. The Bengals could be the most likely fit, reunining Ellis with former teammate Roy Williams. But the Bengals do not have a whole lot of talent to offer the Cowboys, other than draft picks.

I agree Lance. If the dude would have put his nose to the grindstone a little more he would have probably made the same, or maybe even a little more -- while playing significantly less.

He blew it this time but hey, can't really blame him, Jerry proved the last time that this is what works. Thanks for not making that mistake again.

Good riddance.

for being a nice guy Ellis opened his mouth way too much. Stop the talking and play. If your contract that by anyone will make you rich we/I am tired of hear how much your being mistreated/underpaid and played ball for the Cowboys way too long. This was overall a bust pick based on that we should have taken the best available receiver at the time we all know that story. Enjoyed it Greg...be on your way...Go to the AFC please so I don't have to hear how unhappy you are making only 5 mil a year and not even playing full time....

KD i agree, that was pretty much what i was trying to say also. i don't see chad being the same problem that owens was. owens was a great talent and we will miss his production. he was a hell of a worker, and gave it all on the practice field and on the game field. for that he was a good team mate and i don't think you'll get much arguement from any of the rest of our players. it's just the stuff he said to the press without thinking of the concequences. chad on the other hand has seen and realized the results of being an idiot and how costly it can be. owens is in buffalo because of it. chad can get out of cinncy, but acting that way won't get him to dallas, and with the moves that jerry has made recently, with owens and others is finally sinking in with chad???? i think so.

Chad wanted to come here, has wanted to for awhile... But who wouldn't? Also I don't think Chad would act like he has in the past or "like T.O." just because he's been so humbled by last season... He came out and said that he acted like an idiot and that [by playing so poorly] he was paying for it.

Not saying I do or don't want him, just saying his attitude is not a reason for consideration one way or the other.

Don't want Ocho DoucheBago at all.

i don't think that chad will. i think he's doing it now to get out. granted he has in the past, and is "likely" to do it again, but in johnson's situation he seems smarter to the effect that if he gets to a team like dallas with all the talent around, it's not just him. he'd be nerely a good player on a good team. i think his focus would be more to stand out talent wise than with his mouth. owens was'nt the brightest, and the press knew it and used it. johnson on the other hand has a loud mouth, but is very inteligent to go with it. he knows when to back down. i think he would'nt be as arrogant in dallas.

Im sorry but why did you get rid of T.O. when Chad kinda has the same attitude as him. If we are not winning he is going to start pointing fingers too. I am for getting Chad I just think that there was alot of people wanting T.O. gone but want another player that talks like he does on the team. Everyone just has to know that good players run their mouth usually.

you know, i think if chad, 85, ocholinco, or whatever the hell you want to call him, would come to dallas it maybe a good fit. he's been wanting to get out and his qb don't seem to happy with him at this point.  it would probably take more then ellis to get johnson, but a deal might be worth looking into;.......johnson would be greatful to get out and would play his ass off for the team that gets him. he never has not performed. he's somewhat like owens in that matter. he talks a little but more than backs up his rants. might work??????

I want to hang on to Greg. I haven't seen a whole lot from Anthony Spencer yet, Bobby Carpenter isn't the answer and I don't know if any of the draft picks from this year can play that outside spot just yet. If we do trade him, however, we'd need a lot more than just a 5th round pick. We're probably looking for a WR that could conrtibute. I don't see the Pats making that move. They're more likely to send a pick or two. The Bengals pose a more intersting scenario. Two questions worth asking is whether or not Ocho Cinco is on the table in this move, and would Jerry Jones pull the trigger after the massive cleanout from this season.

i would be happy just to get a 5th round pick for him since we gave ours to denver for montrae holland.

I dont see us getting much for Gregg Ellis.  Maybe some draft picks or some young WRs now that we know Stanbach cant stay healthy.  He has had a great career with Dallas but after all his crying and bitching I think it is time to go.  Thanks for everything Greg we appreciate all the good times, but see ya.  Hope you enjoy your next team and we hope we can get something good in return.

Here is the wild card in a possible trade with Cincy: Chad Ocho Cinco. Chances are it will not happen but then again you never know....
