Pigskin Podcast Interviews The Landry Hat On Dallas Cowboys Releasing Terrell Owens

I was interviewed recently for Pigskin Podcast by the recent release of Terrell Owens. I was asked some pretty tough questions during the approximately 15-minute interview.

You can listen to the Podcast by going to this link.

What do you all think? Are the Dallas Cowboys a better team without Terrell Owens? Can Roy Williams get it done with Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin and Jason Witten? Is Tony Romo more comfortable with out the pressure of a Terrell Owens in the locker room?

I agree i was really just bringing it up because there was nothing else to talk about lol

TDCOwboys, the Cowboys really need to give some playing time to Miles Austin and stop bringing in new guys to the locker room. None of those receivers is worth the trouble. Sam Hurd can backup Austin and the Cowboys will just have to test their fate with Roy E. Williams.

Matt Jones is a coke head, and can't stay out of legal trouble. Jerry Porter will want too much money. Money his FRAIL body isn't worth, and Reggie Williams is a legal liability too. He prefers to smoke his.

Hell no. We don't want to touch any af those guys either. I seriously doubt Dallas sinks any more money into free agency at all this year unless it is to resign some of our own. Keith Davis???

Matt Jones, Reggie Willams, Jerry Porter. All released by Jags are any of these guys worth testing out for a year?

Dont sleep on Miles if he can stay healthy this guy will be our number 2. Hes got size and speed and his hands are not as bad as many think. He will definitely have to be  kept off special teams. Im loosing faith in Hurd and lost it in Stanbach. Miles is indeed the best out of them. Im excited to watch this kid next season.

I agree with Iron Man.  Our 3 running backs look good.  That should take the pressure off of Romo.  T.O. will be missed but we will be fine without him. I am hoping Stanback can make an impact. He reminds me alot of Fitzgerald, with his size and speed.   I think Miles Austin and Hurd will be fine.

I just pray that they will play Choice and Jones more in the beginning of the game and Barber at the end... Like the Ginat did last year... Our 3 are far and beyond better than their 3... so i think we are in good shape...

AS long as they let our 3 backs play... because they seemed to skimp out on Felix carries more than once... and NEVER let choice play until we had no choice... so I'm hoping they utilize our 3 headed monster.

We have 3 young GOOD backs that compliment each other absolutely PERFECTLY...

Hate to say it skins, giants, and eagles, but Choice is the closest thing to Emmitt that we have seen since he left for the Cardinals.

GET READY!

power ball made troy aikman a great qb. we had good lines in those days. we had one great wr, and one great te. we had a good D. but we ran the hell out of the football with emmitt. we can do that again with this squad and the young backs we have. jerry remembers how we won, and i think he's going back to those basics again.

you guys all know i was one of the biggest backers of owens here, and still am. i think we'll miss his production, and his ability to draw the double. say what you want, but that is huge. but i also see this team heading in a different direction on offense. it occured, to me, after the pittsburgh game. we were able to run the ball well, even against their great D. if it was'nt for a forced pass by romo, we win that game. we ran well enough to win, but not enough to dominate, and put games away. we need this to keep our D fresh, and that became apparent at the end of the season. that is what kept us out of the playoffs. that is why garrett had difficulties calling our O. we need to re-define our team this year with the strength of our squad, and that to me and i believe the coaches saw it too;   the running backs that we now have;  it takes pressure off romo, the o-line, the recieveing corp, and most importantly the D. in december we loose, because we don't run the ball enough. thats it in a nut shell. so is releasing owens good for our team???? if this is the new philosophy, i'd say yes, it helps us re-focus and re-form. go from feneisse to power ball. that will inevetably open up our passing game more than last year.

I look at it as more the distractions Dan. Every week after that 1st Washington game the local media burned T.O.'s eyes out with the spotlight and you also have to throw in Hard Koncks and then the attention Roy Williams didn't get with T.O. on the field. It just really looked like Jerry Jones didn't think that there was enough room for both of them in the same huddle.

T.O. was complaining about getting balls, and he(Jerry) never got to really see his big pick up in action. 3 picks(a 1st,3rd,and a 6th) worth of big time and around 10 million dollars per year worth.

I don't think Dallas is going to put up the numbers in the passing game that they did in 07', but if the offense can stay healthy they should do well. It's then in Garrett's hands, and from what Jerry has been hinting around lately is that these young RB's are about to become a bigger part of the gameplan. Is Felix Jones going to be ready to go? That is my question.
