Lucille, Lucille, Lucille: The Bob Hayes Saga

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Folks, I really wanted to avoid writing about this bizarre tragedy going on with Bob Hayes because it is taking away from the man’s Hall of Fame honors. But it is getting so damn bizarre, so freakish, that I just cannot avoid it. And I have to suspend my “America’s Team” series to address this uproar over Lucille Hester, who claims to be Bob’s sister. She has the touching letter “typed” by Hayes and then signed by Hayes, but the signature looks nothing like the authentic signature. Oh god. The whole ordeal is making me ill. Folks, you have to [...]

Dallas Cowboys: Not America’s Team

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 60 Comments

This has been brewing in me well before the Pittsburgh Steelers won an NFL record sixth Super Bowl. It all started around the time the Dallas Cowboys spent three years trying to force Quincy Carter as the franchises’ next quarterback. But there’s no doubt about it in my mind, folks: The Dallas Cowboys are no longer America’s Team, and they won’t be for quite some time. The Pittsburgh Steelers can claim fame to the name for now and for some time. I realize there are lame attempts at trying to paint the Steelers as a team with flaws as big [...]

Five Ways To Fix The Dallas Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

Hey, it doesn’t take football scientists or Dan Reeves to figure out how to fix the Dallas Cowboys. Just call on Jennifer Engel. The columnist for the Star-Telegram makes some bold moves in her latest piece of art, including a coming to jesus meeting for Tony Romo and delegating Marion Barber back to the end-zone battering ram he once was.

Damn You Arizona Cardinals!

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 23 Comments

They were so close, but the Arizona Cardinals could not prevent the Pittsburgh Steelers from becoming the franchise with the most Super Bowl victories. With six, they now are truly the best franchise in the history of the NFL and they can claim that fame as long as they want until either the Dallas Cowboys or San Fransisco 49ers pull the trophy away from them. The game between the two teams was one of the top 5 Super Bowls of all time. But how could you not think the Steelers were going to take that ball back with minutes left [...]

Put The Chicken Fingers Down!!!!!! Half-Time Report

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

What’s Bruce Springsteen got against Chicken Fingers? Holy Cow, was that the weirdest beginning to a Half Time Super Bowl? Bruce Springsteen, who truly is the king of rock and roll, can still put on a great show. He always has, but it completely freaked me out when he told me to put down a chicken finger as I was actually dipping one into some sauce. Then he slides off the stage into a camera man and a horde of fans, all with a smile. I mean, this guy is nearly 60 years old. Now, to the game. The James [...]

Super Bowl XLIII: The Winner?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

I really am not having a difficult time predicting who is going to win tonight’s Super Bowl and I will fully explain why I think the Pittsburgh Steelers will win this game…easily. Yes, it pains me to feel the pressure of soon seeing a team have more Super Bowl victories than the Dallas Cowboys. But it is certainly the destiny of these Steelers, who I picked to make it to the Super Bowl at the beginning of the year (playing the Dallas Cowboys, and of course losing). The Arizona Cardinals certainly have played well in the playoffs but that is [...]
