Dallas Cowboys May Try To Reach Deal With Chris Canty

The Star-Telegram reported that Jerry Jones et al will try to hammer out a deal that would keep Chris Canty with the Dallas Cowboys. Canty isn’t a major force on the Cowboys defense, but I wouldn’t say he sucks. I am sure there will be plenty of teams–especially in the AFC–who will show interest in a guy who played all 16 games last year and seems to never get hurt.

If the Cowboys let Canty go, the starting role may go to Jason Hatcher or Stephen Bowen. Neither sounds too appealing.

Jerry Jones also revealed that he doesn’t want fans to expect big waves in free agency this year. What does that mean? The Cowboys probably won’t sign Ray Lewis, and Terrell Owens will likely stay on the team.

Free agency starts in two days. It should be interesting to see who leaves, and if we gain at all.
