Dallas Cowboys Show Interest In Defense, But Not Julius Peppers

Matt Mosley of ESPN reported that the Dallas Cowboys are targeting LSU defensive end Tyson Jackson. Jackson is 6-foot 4-inches tall and weighs 295 pounds. He’s one of the top five ranked defensive ends in the draft, so I am unsure he’ll be there at pick No. 51, but it’s likely.

Jackson’s not a sack artist. He only had 3.5 last season. But he’s a hustler, scouts say, and he makes up for his lack of agility with hard work. What this interest in Jackson means is the Cowboys are likely going to let Chris Canty hit the free agent market, which really shouldn’t be a huge surprise. I just wish the Cowboys could get something for Canty because I think a lot of teams will have interest in him, especially teams in the AFC, like Denver.
