St. Louis Columnist Hates Jason Garrett

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell is going to flip out of the Rams hire Jason Garrett as their new coach. That’s because, according to this column, Garrett is not ready for prime time coaching. “The name of the Dallas Cowboys’ embattled offensive coordinator sticks out like an unruly comb-over on a bald man.” Wow. I am not quite sure Garrett is “embattled” because his job does not seem to be in jeopardy and the fact Terrell Owens is upset over the offense doesn’t necessarily show badly for Garrett. But, it is obvious his offense was not that spectacular when [...]

Jason Garrett Stumps St. Louis Press Corps

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

What the hell is a mystery candidate? Don’t ask me, ask the St. Louis Times-Dispatch because that’s what they are calling Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. We know Garrett is not going to Denver because the Broncos hired the young offensive coordinator from the Patriots. The Detroit Lions haven’t made a peep after interviewing Garrett. And now, the Rams are calling him, rather the St. Louis Media, “the mystery candidate.” Apparently, Garrett is a top-5 finalist for the Rams head coaching job. Just say that, OK, St. Louis?

Anthony Spencer’s wild side exposed

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 11 Comments

Anthony Spencer was arrested Sunday at 3 a.m. outside an Indianapolis nightclub on charges of disorderly conduct and being drunk in public. The Dallas Cowboys top draft pick in 2007, who some insiders say is going to be the force opposite of DeMarcus Ware, allegedly tried to punch a bouncer. Reports are that Spencer offered club owners at Have a Nice Day Cafe to stay open past their mandated closing time, and when a bouncer refused, he tried to punch him. Apparently, Spencer was still in party mode at 3 freaking in the morning. Not such a nice day for [...]

ESPN Fumbles Pacman Story: It’s Old News

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 16 Comments

ESPN’s big-time, anticipated story on Adam “Pacman” Jones is one of the biggest sports news flops of the decade. On ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” today, they are reporting on a two-year-old incident that police have already investigated and found no substance to the claims. Pacman says he told the NFL commissioner about the incident and the Dallas Cowboys. Steven Smith, in his awkward attempt at trying to be a real watchdog journalist, looks foolish in his line of questioning against Pacman. Here is Pacman’s response to the old report: Here is Chris Mortenson even saying that the police are not [...]

Ugly Chiefs Fan Site Attacks Jason Witten Again

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 50 Comments

It never ends with these Kansas City Chiefs fans. After another woeful season that is leading to wholesale firings and changes, the Chiefs fans don’t have much to hang their heads high on this season. So Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez made All Pro, along with the Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Ware. Certainly, it is a lofty award Gonzalez can add to his record-breaking stats. He surely is a great tight end, right? Were his numbers better than Witten’s this year? Yes, they were. Are there variables in the game that would allow such a situation to occur? Yes, [...]

Terrell Owens Fighting With Cris Carter

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

Terrell Owens launched his blogging career today at Yardbarker. Of course, he opens with controversy, although his comments are tone down quite a bit. If you missed it, Cris Carter, the former wide receiver and now a football analyst, said on ESPN that he’d like to see Owens shot in front of a horde of media. The comment never gained steam because it was a non-player who said it, and ESPN would never sensationalize something one of their own employees said. So, the comment got to Terrell Owens and he contacted Yardbarker to start his own official blog on a [...]

Jason Garrett Is Detroit Lions Leading Candidate

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett may be leaving for the worst team in the NFL soon. Garrett is now being called the leading candidate for the Detroit Lions head coaching job. Garrett originally refused the Lions interview request, but then changed his mind. The interview was conducted Monday. The Lions have been interviewing defensive minds, except for Garrett, whose offensive gameplan intrigues the Lions front office.  Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi said Garrett is “the guy they think can turn their franchise around.” (Detroit Free Press)

Pacman Released. Is Terrell Owens Next?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 33 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys will be releasing Adam “Pacman” Jones after a lackluster season with the team. The news does not come as a surprise, as Pacman caused embarrassment to the organization in October when he got into a fight with his bodyguard and was suspended for six games. The release comes shortly after ESPN contacted NFL executives for a bizarre story that alleges Pacman arranged for a man to shoot at two Atlanta-area men in 2007, shortly before he was suspended for his numerous run-ins with the law. That piece will air Sunday. Is Terrell Owens next? Owens is due [...]

No Word On Jason Garrett’s Meeting With Broncos

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

The parade of wannabe head coaches continues to march through Denver.  The Broncos interviewed Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett yesterday for the head coaching job, but there is no word of how the meeting went.  Rick Dennison, the Broncos offensive coordinator, also met with the team. Leslie Frazier, the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator, will interview today. The Broncos have already interviewed Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Garrett currently makes $3 million a season, the highest-paid coordinator in the NFL. He’s paid the [...]

Early Offseason Leads To Surgery For Two Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

The Dallas Cowboys announced today that Terence Newman and Patrick Crayton both had arthroscopic surgery to remove bone elements from their ankles. Newman battled injuries all season, none that had to do with his ankle though. Crayton’s injury comes as a surprise as there was no indication during the season that he was having ankle problems.
