Pro Football Talk was right when Mike Florio speculated that Jason Garrett outpriced himself for the head coaching job with the St. Louis Rams.
On Saturday, the Rams announced that Steve Spagnuolo is their coach and they are paying him $11.5 million over 4 years. Spags was earning $2 million a year with the New York Giants.
Garrett makes $3 million year just as the offensive coordinator in Dallas. Granted, we’re only talking about a $500,000 difference, but you can almost guarantee that Garrett was looking to be paid more than his current salary to be a head coach.
I guess Garrett didn’t want to lead a team that bad and the money is too good in Big D.
