St. Louis Columnist Hates Jason Garrett
St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell is going to flip out of the Rams hire Jason Garrett as their new coach. That’s because, according to this column, Garrett is not ready for prime time coaching.
“The name of the Dallas Cowboys’ embattled offensive coordinator sticks out like an unruly comb-over on a bald man.”
Wow. I am not quite sure Garrett is “embattled” because his job does not seem to be in jeopardy and the fact Terrell Owens is upset over the offense doesn’t necessarily show badly for Garrett. But, it is obvious his offense was not that spectacular when it needed to be.
“My second reaction was too young, too unproven, too completely and totally against the grain of what Devaney said he was seeking. (My third reaction was, “Oh brother, is John Shaw meddling again?” But that’s another story for another time.)”
This guy’s comments get even better.
I see a so-called boy genius who went from the Cowboys’ untouchable head-coach-in-waiting to a flawed character whom Jerry Jones has readily (eagerly?) allowed to freely seek other options.
Is there anything else you would like to say Mr. Burwell? To say Jerry Jones is trying to sell off Garrett is just untrue. Garrett can talk to other teams, and Jerry has already tried to convince Garrett to stay when he told him to avoid talking with Detroit.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I hope he gets a head coaching gig. It’s because he’s earned the right, of course. lol Nah, really we should all just watch what we wish for. The grass is’nt allways greener. However…
