The Dallas Cowboys Were No Team. They Were “53 Individuals on a Football Club”

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin is never short of words. He’ll obviously always bleed blue and silver.

He’s a three-time Super Bowl champion, and he obviously knows how to win.  He knows what it takes to be a team.

So, when he criticizes the current Dallas Cowboys for having no heart, I think most fans can take it seriously.

You're very right Jimmy.  Let's remember back to Romo on HBO during the offseason, talking as if he had already made it to the superbowl.  They seemed to just take it for granted that the team would get 13 wins again.  Btw, the Hard Knocks curse strikes again!

Oh, and I don't like to consider myself a troll.  I enjoy honest debate and real football fans and I like to encourage communication between all the NFC East sites in the Fan-Sided network.  This is a site full of football fans; even if I hate your team, we can have intelligent discourse (occasionally at least).  I do show up to gloat when your team sucks, but I also come by to suck it up when my team sucks, and that's just part of my love for the game.

I'm not a troll. I'm a Tulip dammit.

Its not the media's fault that this team was overrated from the start.  This is a bad football team.  You don't lead the league in in turnovers and 2nd in penalties. I don't think this team lacks heart; Bradie James,  Romo, Witten, Eldo, Ware, and others still played hard in a losing cause.
I think this team's real problem is they read their resumes and press clippings and think they can come out on the field Sunday a  just freestyle their way to wins.

You are right T.E.X.A.S.  2 of the Redskins titles came in 1937 and 1942. The Cowboys first season wasn't until 1960.

The reason the Cowboys get more credit for their Superbowls is cause they are one of few that have grabbed three in such a short period. They have also had the most apperances to the big game. Also the Cowboys have not been around as long as most teams. I might be wrong but the Redskins have been here longer right? Not really too sure.

Good analogy davedallasfan...A little disgusting..but that fits ian better..ian = troll diarrhea..lmao..

i have  tried and tried to think of what ian reminds me of. some thing kept knawing and eating at me. causing a grumbling in my stomach. knowing that that little bitch just reminds me of something. then this last week i'm laid up with the flu and it hit me while i'm on the throne. ian is the diareaha. he always shows up at the most in-opportune moments to cause a person problems. ian is the diareaha, no doubt in my mind. he's an agravating little shit. thats it i finally figured it out. well i'd say lets just flush him away, little bitch.

Yes Fred..so what..Still is a Cowboys board and you are still a troll..Won't the Deadskin board play with you?..

For your information, the Redskins have also won 5 NFL championships. See, anyone can play this ancient history game that you guys rely on with your team that hasn't won a playoff game this decade.

Indeed..Amazingly easy to write off Super Bowl wins..when your team has zippo...

We won a playoff game in the last 5 years, blah, blah, blah. We got to the superbowl, blah, blah, blah. 5 superbowl wins kills 1 superbowl apperance in the last 5 years. Redskin + Eagles fans are a joke! And the Redskins have a playoff win in the last 5 years!  Wow you guys are the best!  Keep lookin' up to the Cowboys fellas cuz thats all you can do till you got 5 trophys!
END OF STORY IDIOTS!

whatever..TheLandryHat..Do you think by the name it might be where Cowboy fans come to read about the Cowboys?

Why the f**k are you here except to raise hell..and if you don't like The America's Team name..Take it up with NFL films..not us..
They are the ones who hung the name on the Cowboys..

Redskins and Eagles are the..Teams in the division..that play Arerica's Team..Live with it..

I think Ian has more right to talk than you do Landryhat. The Eagles have made a Super Bowl appearance in the past 5 years.
Even my lowly Redskins have won one playoff game in recent memory. But America's Team has gone dozen years without a single playoff win, yet you, Mr. Landryhat,  have the nerve to be haughty.
The 5 Super Bowl titles that you use to look down on the rest of the NFC East is beginning to approach ancient history, Mr. Landry Snob.

Ian, whatever. You're an Eagles fan. You expect us to not laugh? Team is a key word.

Colorblind..also live in Dallas..and you nailed it..He is at the right place..ESPN radio with Randy Galloway..who hasn't written a kind word about the Boys in years...

Ian...OK sparky..acting like the Buzzards are all that..Better worry about The Vikings..I know being a Buzzard you have to be reminded..nearly on a daily basis..Beating Dallas doesn't win you one of our "5" Super Bowl trophies...You actually have to win one..and that is never going to happen..

Good luck with all that..and hope head coach Krispie Kreme doesn't fall from his own weight..on the sidelines..LMAO..

Remember when everybody laughed at me for saying the Eagles were a better team than the Cowboys? I guess you see the light now.

As a Boys fan living in Dallas, I'm able to hear Irvin's radio show every day....... he's a joke.  I love the man as a Cowboy, but all he does is make excuses for the high profile friends he has in the organization.  IMO  he has very little credibility when it comes to the Cowboys.

I disagree I think Michael is for the Cowboys Emmitt on the other hand... I think Michael has been frustrated all year with the Cowboys. You can listen to him on the radio and tell that he wants this team to make their goals happen. If Garrett does leave is such a bad idea to bring Irvin in for a offense of corrdinator job. Maybe its far fetch I dont know, but the way he talks he sounds like its what the offense needs. He played offense he has seen superbowl champs he has seen players and has been a player with heart. He also knows how hard we should be playing and he knows the Cowboys are horrible and something should be done. Michael might sound a little out of it sometmes but he can be a bright guy. Anyone else feel like Irvin could coach one day.

I think Michael..sorta like..Emmit Smith don't have a fond feeling for this team..(They in some ways are like the old Miami Dolphins who get together once a year when another team doesn't go undefeated)...If this team succeeds it will diminish from their greatness..
I like Michael..but he is no friend of this current team..He is feeding the fans who are mad at this team what they want..Funny it is Randy Galloway..who never had a kind word for MI when he was playing...
I am disappointed in MI but he is the media and the media is always after the Boys..
