Dallas Cowboys trainers rushed to the shower stalls last night to attend to quarterback Tony Romo, who reportedly collapsed after the embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
They were going to take Romo out in a stretcher as the locker room was at a standstill, but Romo regained strength to get up.
I’ve added a personal account from the incident from a DMN reporter below. When asked about it later, Romo said “I was a little banged up.”
His post-game interview was a bit choppy. Now 5-8 in Decembers, Romo didn’t answer questions with much clarity and often seemed like he was drifting in thoughts. Sometimes he didn’t even make sense.
But is it in act? Is Romo trying to make it seem like the offensive line played so poorly that he was knocked out a few times and broke a rib here and there? Maybe so, but lose 44-6 to a divisional rival with a playoff spot on the line? Wow.
There was absolutely nothing heroic about Romo’s performance last night. Of all those star-studded players, the game ball would have gone to Miles Austin, a guy most people don’t even know.
Was Romo’s shower collapse an act?
