Dallas Cowboys Playoff Chances Less Than 10 Percent

ESPN reported today that the Dallas Cowboys need to beat Philadelphia, have the Atlanta Falcons lose one game and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose both games at home.

Late last night, they reported that the Cowboys need to win and have the Falcons and Bucs lose at least one of their last two games. Now, they change it without any explanation of why the Cowboys need the Bucs to lose both games.

The scenario did not make sense to me and I am too drained to research it right now. But the Cowboys beat the Bucs. The Cowboys are now 9-6 and the Bucs are 9-5. If the Bucs lose, then they are tied with the Cowboys and that means the Cowboys would beat them for the playoffs. If the Bucs win both of their games, they are in. But there is still one playoff spot left.

Not sure who my playoff guru is, but go ahead and explain it in the comments because I am confused. But if the Cowboys need a Falcons lose and two Bucs losses, the playoffs are basically just about over with a 10 percent chance of those scenarios playing out. Plus, we play the Eagles in Philly.
