The media is reporting that Terrell Owens and Jason Witten were involved in a tense exchange of words and a few pushes in the locker room. ESPN is all over it on its 7 p.m. edition.
According to two sources, the two exchanged words before being separated. Both players acted as if everything was fine when the media was allowed in the locker room. But Owens was still clearly miffed.
It is also being alleged that Jason Witten was Ed Werder’s source for the ESPN reports. Even Bill Parcells is being brought into the mix. Witten’s agent also represents Parcells. This is just insane!
Terrell Owens is telling the media that he has no idea why the media is pumping these stories out. You can read about it here in the DMN.
The situation has gotten so out of control that Wade Phillips had to call a team meeting to calm the nerves a bit. The Cowboys can only do one thing to keep the season from imploding: beat the New York Giants.
All of the media frenzy this week will make it hard to meet that goal, but the Cowboys have home-field advantage tomorrow night, which will be the second-to-last game at Texas Stadium. The Cowboys are 5-1 at home.
