Dallas Cowboys Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

The Dallas Cowboys played one of the best defensive games of the year and upset the Tampa Bay Bucs at home today. The win was huge because the 5-3 Cowboys move ahead of the Bucs for a playoff spot and stay within striking distance of the Eagles, Giants and Redskins for the NFC East title.

The game was close throughout with only one touchdown scored, by new receiver Roy Williams. The defense deserves all the credit for holding the Bucs to three field goals. Although the secondary was shaky, and gave way too much cushion, Jon Gruden could not take advantage of it.

Up next for the Dallas Cowboys are the New York Giants, the NFL’s defending Super Bowl champions.
