Brad Johnson is freaking old. The Tampa Bay Bucs know this. And they have admittently said they have a few special blitz packages for the Dallas Cowboys. They know the Super Bowl favorites are on the line. Why not blitz? The Cowboys offensive line has been horrid in the three of four loss streak.
Ironically, the Bucs will have a quarterback at the helm who is just two years younger than Johnson: Jeff Garcia. The good thing for the Bucs is Garcia can still play. Johnson doesn’t look like he can.
This game is huge for the Cowboys. A loss would drop them to 4-4, with the New York Giants on the door step. The Cowboys are wary of this Bucs defense. With an immobile quarterback, I think head coach Wade Phillips and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett are well aware that if the offensive line continues to play poorly it spells doom.
So, the key to the Cowboys winning this game is ensuring the well-paid offensive line protects Brad Johnson against a vicious pass rush. This same offensive line must open up holes for Marion Barber, who is going to have to take control of this game. He’s carried the Cowboys during this tough stretch as the offense sputters without Tony Romo.
