ESPN is reporting that new Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams inked a five-year contract worth $45 million, including more than $20 million guaranteed. Of course, this is a story from NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and I fully epect them to change the numbers later today without telling anyone. It easily makes him one of the top-paid wide receivers in the game if the numbers are right, which coming from ESPN they probably are not.

I've seen dozens of talking heads speculate on when T.O. will blow up now that Roy is on the team. I suspect they'll continue to goad him and they'll paint a negative picture to make Roy seem as threatening as possible in the hopes of getting a good reaction out of him.
Roy is clearly a means to get established talent who's still young enough that he'll be around after T.O. is gone. T.O. is not stupid and I'm sure he realizes it. To his credit, he hasn't had a hissy fit like McNabb did when the Eagles drafted his replacement. At least not yet.
T.O. will behave himself as long as they win. If they keep losing, you'll hear from him Roy or no Roy.
Does anyone think that having Roy here right now is better for T.O. with the media. It seems since Roy has showed up they have left T.O. alone. Roy seems to know how to talk to the media alot better too. It seemed everytime T.O. talked to the media they had a new story to tell.
if jones was suspended, that could mean the removal of his listing on the active roster???? thus creating the open space for the time frame of the suspension. a suspension means no pay, and no pay does not hold a roster spot????? i think???? and i like the idea of adding a vet corner like law......considering we will basically have 2 rookies on the oposite of henry. law would be a nice "coach" and vet to fall back on in crunch passing situations. we would probably start jenkins anyway, allowing scandrick to play slot cover and have law as nickel and backup support....i like it
I know McBriar and Hurd were place on IR to make room, but that's 2 players removed from the 53 man roster to make room for 3 right? Roy "Mojo" Williams, that is what I heard Wade calling him today, so if you hear him say "Mojo" that is what he is talking about. Anyway the three players signed this week are Roy, then the punter Paulescu, and now this guy. It doesn't appear Pacman will be back to me unless they do look to do something with Ball to bring him in later?
That's Carlos Polk, sounded like Pope when he was on the radio, but here is the story on him. It appears he has signed and should be playing very soon.
Yea RG, I don't think it is something to be overly excited about even if it did happen. Not only that, someone would have to be removed from the 53 man roster to make room for him also. I really don't know who that could be unless they have lost all faith in Ball.
I also heard on 1310 TheTicket, and it was on Norm's show with Mickey Spagnola, (so I consider it a good source) that Dallas inked or is looking to ink Carlos Pope to a deal and that it was a move that Wade and the coaching staff felt they really had to make to help on special teams. I don't know much about the guy, but he has been around for some time according to Mickey. He played a while under Wade in San Diego I believe. But anyway, Looking at this deal if it did happen, wouldn't that pretty well mean that the Pacman experiment is over? And also when you go to dallascowboys.com and to the teams depth chart, Adam Jones is no longer there at all. If he were to be gone for a game or two or even over a month he would be on there. Terrance Newman is. Maybe Jerry is done for at least the year with him, or maybe Goodell has told Jerry something we don't know, but either way I don't really expect him to help this team this year, besides, Newman should be back around the time his suspension is up anyway. Lets hope.
He definitely was a free agent when the season started. I don't believe anyone signed him. I'm guessing there's a reason for that however.

Oh, it's Adam Shefter and now he says Green Bay is interested too. I thought the deadline had passed anyway?
I just got home a little bit ago, and I turned onto NFL Network to hear that NOW, the Dallas Cowboys could potentially be looking into signing Ty Law. One other team is interested, but it looks like it could happen. We'll see.
boy i hate dave goldberg ap sports writer. he is a prick. he is definitely a cowboy, and jerry jones hater. he wrote an article titled "problems pile up for cowboys." in the article he bashes the shit out of our club and any thing to do with any of our current stars. he anoints parcells as the football gods answer to everything and basically calls jerry an idiot!!! what the hell does he know, and where did he get his credibility from. what team does he coach or work for????? hell, his main source of info in his article was to qoute that dumbass chris collinsworthless. what a frickin moron. this ain't the first goldberg terd and probably won't be the last. the only thing i hope for is a superbowl trophy and either me or "anyone" else the oportunity to shove it up his ass. and take the pedistal it sits on and shove it up collinsworthless' ass too......pricks
Saying that they both make 9 million a year is deceptive. The guaranteed portion of the contract is all that matters. T.O. isn't stupid and he knows that he may never see some of that money. Roy's contract has 20 mil guaranteed. How much of T.O.'s contract was guaranteed? THAT's the comparison you need to make.
I hate how media automatically spews accusations about how T.O is gonna rip the team apart now because theres a new WR and he wont get as many catches. T.O has got three years best in his career. He wants a damn Super Bowl Ring!! I could see the media getting on a loud mouth WR who doesn't do shit when he gets the ball and is ineffective, but when T.O gets the ball he makes plays!!! Point Blank! and FRED your right he is a walking quote machine, and the only thing he can do to stop the media from blowing him up is wearing a muzzle. Whatever he says is a story and the media can twist it whichever way they want because the media and the fans and asshole analysts are gonna believe whatever bad news reporters have to say about T.O. His reputation will never leave him and he is responsible.
A quiet T.O doesnt make money and it doesnt make headlines.
I don't know what's hard to understand about that. TO is a walking quote machine and any reporter with a pen or microphone is going to stick them in front of his mouth as long as it is running.
