Is Door Still Open For Badboy Adam Jones? I Guess So

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says Adam “Pacman” Jones still has a chance to return to the team depending on what NFL commish Roger Goodell does. Until then, Pacman can serve fries with the shakes.

In this article, Jones talks about how he could allow Pacman back. But the whole ordeal with Pacman was overblown as it was. An quite honestly, he didn’t deserve to be booted this time around. No charges were filed. He did not violate his probation. We don’t know how much he had to drink. And his bodyguard started the whole entire thing. If someone swings at me, I don’t care how much trouble I need to avoid, I am swinging back. Wouldn’t you?

“He literally did everything regarding his meetings and [drug] tests,” Jerry Jones said. “He graduated out of the substance program in two years. That means he didn’t have any positive tests.”

We know Pacman is gone for four games. The NFL Players Association has been in contact with Pacman about a possible appeal, which he SHOULD do.

i say bring in an old vet like ty law to work with these rookies scandrick an jenkins....and law can play nickel, in the slot to help the safeties..........done deal

I don't care anymore. He's a huge idiot. Who's going to be available in free agency?

Let me clarify. Many of the articles reported that the bodyguard swung at Pacman. But all of them indicated that Pacman threw the first punch.

Since I never heard the "widely reported" news that the bodyguard swung at Pacman, I googled the situation. I read the first 4 or 5 articles and saw no reference to it. Landryhat, could you post links as to where you got this information?

Okay. Shows how much I've been following this situation. I assume the bodyguard has been fired then?

RG I've read a couple of reports that state the body guard did in fact take the first punch. Deion Sanders also mentioned it on NFL network but thats beside the point. Pac-dumbass should not have been out that night regardless. I would not take him back.

The bodyguard swung at Pacman. Widely reported.

Sorry if I misread your statement. I wasn't just referring to you, however, but also to the original post, which was worded much more strongly than yours was. "...his bodyguard started the whole entire thing. If someone swings at me, I don’t care how much trouble I need to avoid, I am swinging back. Wouldn’t you? "

Dan, where did you get that he swung at Adam first? And where did you get that the bodyguard started the whole thing? I'm hardly an expert on this situation so maybe I missed something, but that seems like a lot of assumptions right there.

i agree with you 100%. if you read my statement threw you will see that i assumed that the body guard probably intiated the first physical contact, meaning he had to try to physically remove jones from the site. (his job). i'm not putting the blame by any means on the body guard. hell no, he's doing his job. but with that in mind, thats when pac, apparently got a swing in what he assumed was self defence????? this is the way i understood jerry jones' explaination of the situation. this is only my take on second hand info ofcorse. i did NOT say the guard took the first swing. i explained it almost exactally the way you did, and said that pac acted as any punk in that situation would. he took a swing. i'm not siding with pac at all, i'm saying if goodell says it's ok after 4 games, and jerry wnts him back fine. i just don't believe this altercation warrents a lifetime ban??????

Why in the world are you assuming that the former police officer and bodyguard is the one who instigated the fight over the guy who's been in trouble a dozen times over?

From what I understand, the bodyguard was playing the proper babysitter role and telling Jones that he needed to go home now.  Jones didn't want to go home and a fight ensued.  How does that translate to the bodyguard taking the first swing?  Because J.J. kinda sorta implied it? That makes NO sense.

I might be willing to believe the bodyguard put a hand on him to try to escort Jones out, and Jones responded with a swing.  But why would a former cop who's job is to babysit a guy ever take the first swing?

I'm not saying we know for a fact that he didn't take the first swing, but I find it interesting that several of you are willing to "assume" that the bodyguard instigated the fight.

well yeah, you are right. i guess the owners of tenn. and dallas have probably gone far and above the call of duty here to "protect" their investment. i'm sure pac did'nt spend much of his own money to keep out of trouble. look at to what extremes jerry went to protect pac. he even had an onterage of body guards for the asshole and it still did'nt work. thats why i think this last situation kinda reeks of something? seems as though the body guard, and a broken mirror were the only incidents. i'm assuming, of corse the body guard started the physical part of the altercation and pac responded as any punk would at the time, SWING......so there you go. this is what jerry seems to be saying about the situation, and with a zero tollerance, where do you go????? jerry's not able to buy him out of it, but in 4 games, it maybe enough to settle the dust here and let it alone???????? we'll see

Well, you might be right davedallas.  But as anyone with knowledge of our legal system knows, money buys you a lot of leniency. I'm not claiming to know for a  fact that Pacman bought anyone off. But the history of dropped charges and renounced allegations against him sure make me suspicious.

and fred sanford, the exact opposite is true of your statement. he would not be in jail for any of the things he's done. he would be more of a probationary, fines magnet....the reason he's high profile, nfl, IS the reason he's in hot water. the nfl has a code of conduct policy. the police did'nt even feel the need to file ANY charges, but yet the nfl suspended him for 4 games. it's different than being out in the real world for these thugs, and that is what jones just can't seem to understand. you can't live like that and expect to play high profile football. the nfl comes first......then jones

i agree with landryhat. really jones has, for the most part, abided by all of the standards set by him. we don't know what happened that nite, and for leaving the benefit of doubt with jones, he could have been set UP????? who really knows for sure. he looks as if he'll continue to do what ever it takes, even go thru AA, so what the hell, if goodell says it's ok, and jerry wants him back, fine with me

Screw Pacman. This is his fault to begin with. If he would have stayed home like he was supposed to we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I don't want any extra surprises in my Chicken McNuggets, you know what I mean?

Let it go Landryhat. Pacman is a criminal who cannot be rehabilitated who would already be in jail if not for his football talents. If he returns to the team, he would only disappoint you again.

ty law anyone? we need corners really bad, i guess it wouldnt hurt to get a proven corner...hes old but according to the nfl he has been trainin and even lowered his price..hopefully JJ thinks bout what our D needs and helps them out too
