Adam “Pacman” Jones Punches Bodyguards?

AUTHOR: thelandryhat | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 31 Comments |

What we had all hoped would not happened is being reported as happening: Adam “Pacman” Jones allegedly was part of a hotel scuffle.

According to CBS 11 News Jones was involved in a “violent scuffle” at the Joule Hotel Tuesday night.

Sources say police were called after Jones argued with one of his own bodyguards.  By the time police arrived he was headed back inside the hotel and patrons could clearly hear a fight going on in the bathroom. That fight was allegedly between ‘Pacman’ Jones and a member of his security detail.  Security inside the hotel allegedly pulled the two apart.  At least one mirror was broken in the confrontation.

The Dallas Cowboys have issued additional bodyguards for Jones, to keep him out of trouble. Now he is punching them out. The Cowboys declined to comment on the situation, saying they had no information.

Sources say Jones went outside and left the hotel without paying his tab.  He was reportedly with a woman who drove the two away from the scene.

Developing story……….

    …you’re shittin me.
If this is true you can probably count on him having played his last nfl game

  2. wait and see if any charges are filed first

  3. I’m hoping that Jerry gets to that bodyguard before Goodell does.

But in the end, if Pacman is really done and all we lose is a 4th rounder, I think I’m ok with it.

  4. thelandryhat says:

Oh and thanks for the late night catch, MBIIIEffect, I was just leaving work when you emailed me the PAcman debacle.

  5. Anytime, TLH. I always listen to Ferrall on sirius radio at night to catch stuff like that.

P.S. I got that UVA blog you set me up with. I’m still going to stay here and ruffle some feathers though.

  6. I cant believe you guys aren’t concerned… If we loose Pac-man, who is playing the best a corner now. And Newman’s injury keeps nagging him and making him suck ass… We are in serious trouble….SERIOUS TROUBLE! and it will start Sunday when the Cardinals destroy us in the air.

This is very very bad news for us..

  7. ESPN is saying Newman’s got a sports hernia and may need surgery.  Hope you guys like playing the rest of your season without a secondary.

  8. The Truth says:

They reported that there wasn’t even an official police report filed even though they showed up at the seen.  (Obviously Cowboys fans and knew the repercussions)  This shouldn’t lead to any suspension because of that fact, but it does prove that he is STILL a complete idiot.  I was one of the few that believed that he would behave because he should know what is at stake, but obviously some people are just THAT stupid.

    scene*

  10. this little scuffle involed our people, all of our people. where do any of you think this is going to go. jerry will call goodell and say it’s a little misunderstanding, his body guards got him out before there was any trouble everythings fine. goodell will give jerry his ok and nuff said, no outsiders will be involved. personally i don’t care if he had sex with the body guard as long as no one from the “outside” was involved

  11. Ironman says:

I hope this doesn’t get him suspended man…. But at least he isn’t killing dogs…

  12. Ironman says:

    Dave,

I hope everything you said is EXACTLY what happens….

  13. thelandryhat says:

Redskins Guy, cease using that nickname or be banned from this site. I am serious!

  14. Read the article, Guy. He’d be out for somewhere around 6 weeks. We did draft a corner in the first round, remember?

Owner of Landryhat.com? Really? More like biggest nut sweater of thelandryhat.com

  15. No police report is definitely a favorable sign, but it doesn’t mean he’s out of the woods yet.  He still did property damage against the hotel (broke a mirror) and attracted negative publicity by being involved in violent activity in front of witnesses.

Police also sometimes file charges later once the press catches wind of it.  I seem to recall some Bills player who was given a speeding ticket weeks after the incident because of negative PR the police department received.

I wouldn’t say it’s a given that he’ll be suspended, but I’d still say there’s at least even odds he will be.  The longer this thing stays in the media, the better the odds of him being suspended.   So thanks to whoever wrote this article!

  16. Haha they’re his bodyguards and he’s paying them, why can’t he beat them up?

    Who did you ban, TLH?

  17. That Eagles wide receiver needed hernia surgery.  They said six weeks originally too.  It’s been like eight and he’s still out.

If he has surgery tomorrow, he’ll still be out until the thursday just before the 49ers game AT A MINIMUM.  Seahawks would be much more likely. And of course, once he comes back, it will take a few games for him to get back into game form and shake the rust off.  Pretty serious blow if you ask me.  Better hope your rookie steps up in a big way.

  18. Ahhh…..the sweet sound of the season imploding on the Cowchips.  Pacman, oh sorry, ADAM Jones in trouble again.  Newman out (although that sucks – wish him well).   TO arguing with Romo.  How Bout them Cowboys!?!?  hahaha

  19. think about it boys. jerry had to have given goodell every reason to believe he will take care of pacman. it ain’t about pacman that goodell even cares about, it’s about the image of the nfl. and jerry is one of goodell’s bosses. remember the commissioner works for the owners of the nfl. they are the nfl. so if jerry tells goodell that he’ll see to it that this one never gets out, that’ll be what happens. that is a guarntee. jerry’s team is at stake, and if pacman screws up this time, he better hope he faces goodell instead of jerry. goodell can make him disappear from the nfl, jerry might feel the need to make pacman just plain “disappear”. would anyone ask any questions after that. like i said before, old pacpunk might be in for a little more than he bargained for this time. in other words it maybe him and him only that gets screwd this time. this ain’t tennessee we got here. this is jerry jones and his dallas cowboys. if i were pacpunk i would’nt mess with that shit

  20. Redskins Guy says:

I’m not one to defy local rules, so I changed my name.  But just because I’m curious…how exactly can you ban me when I don’t have an account here?  Don’t make empty threats, especially when I’m a law-abiding citizen of the Fan-sided network and you could just ask.
We still own this place.  You just pay rent.

  21. Game hasn’t been played yet, Cardinals C*nt.

  22. bushido936 says:

I’d like to suggest for jerry to hire the services of marvin harrison, not as a player, but as an advisor to pac.  he also hangs around “the wrong crowd” (alleged gang affiliations) when hes home in philly, and even shot somebody (allegedly) over the summer, yet after the initial report, we don’t hear anything til the guy who was shot decides to sue him.
since its obvious pac hasnt changed and jerry can’t control him with bodyguards he might as well find out marvin’s secrets to flying under the radar

  23. Redskins Guy says:

DaveDallas, the problem is that this one already got out by virtue of the fact that we’re reading about it.  Jerry can do what he can to keep charges from being filed and that will certainly help, but in the end this will come down to how much negative PR this thing generates.  Though his influence is impressive, even JJ can’t completely control the media.

If it dies out in a few days, you’ll be fine.  If you see images of some bodyguard in the hospital with a broken face and teary witnesses talking about how their kids were scared, you’re just screwed.  Anything in between will be a coin toss.

  24. Bodyguard has declined to press charges, attorney says that he doesn’t think anything happened at the hotel. It looks like Jones will have to fly to NY to have a sit-down with Goodell though. I think it’ll be ok…..I hope it’ll be ok.

  25. bushido936 says:

also, did everyone miss the huge defended pass jenkins had at the end of the eagles game that saved a TD.  we did use a first round pick on this guy for a reason, and this years CB class was considered one of the best, at least at the top end.
and was it only me who saw scandrick making plays all over the place in the pre-season?  he was also considered by many to be a 2nd round pick but fell because of “character issues”

if pac gets suspended or whatever, i think we’ll be fine. we brought him in as insurance at cb and special teams.  so we lose our insurance when we need it…people get hurt, shit happens, teams can still win.  and as far as special teams, all he seems to run more east west than north. put felix back there and were good. (more touches for him the better) and even his “playmaker” title at cb…i have seen him in position to pick off at least 3 or 4 passes and every time they went straight through his hands…so really it wouldnt be a season changing loss.

ps. our D isn’t lookin too hot with him and newman

  26. no like i said the only one screwed here is pacpunk. jerry already played his hand by drafting 2 corners in the draft. from what i’ve heard jenkins and scandrick are both pretty good, so we roll the dice. pacpunk is the one thats out, so thats the only gamble jerry took. is drafting and maybe starting rookies at the corner. and hey, thats been done before….you see thats where professionalism comes in. calm cool and collect. thats why redskin guy comes here, because he knows he can rile up the situation. he loves that, but not me, i ain’t worried, if we keep the pacpunk, good….if we gotta go with rookies then so be it. or maybe newman ain’t that bad. i have’nt heard an official report yet

  27. number_9 says:

The police didnt press any charges…if anything he might have to sit out a game or two

  28. if the police did’nt press charges the nfl really can’t take any action either. pac’s attorneies or should i say jerry’s will take care of that……done deal we can all sleep sound tonite batman

  29. Redskins Guy says:

Davedallas, you’re just wrong.  Pacman doesn’t have to receive charges to get suspended.  There’s a behavior clause in his contract that all NFL players have.  I believe he was suspended the first time around before there were actual charges against him (he was just connected with a LOT of incidents and questioned repeatedly by police).

Don’t believe me? Ask T.O. when he was suspended for his antics on the Dallas Star back as a 49er.  No charges there.  No violence or dirty hits.

Still don’t believe me?  Ask Steve Smith who punched a teammate and was suspended two games by his own team even though no charges were filed.

Saying a player can’t get suspended unless charges are pressed against him is just plain wrong.  It certainly decreases the likelihood, but it’s hardly a certainty.

  30. Fred Sanford says:

What a timebomb this clown is. The fact that it was “in house” and involved Jerry Jones’ own bodyguard underscores this point even more. Either there is a traitor in the Cowboys’ midst, or Pacman was once again dumb enough to let his idiocy shine through to the general public.
