Dallas Rams Lose To Redskins In Embarrassment

The Dallas “Rams” Cowboys looked awful in the loss to the Washington Redskins today. The numbers were deceiving for Tony Romo, who even though he had 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, his one interception was a critical error in the game.

“We don’t want turnovers, and we need to get some. You’re fighting a battle every time you lose a turnover battle,” was head coach Wade Phillips‘s response during the press conference.

But that wasn’t the most annoying thing about Phillips’s comments.

“We thought we could pile it on them and we didn’t,” he said.

Oh really? You thought you could pile it on a divisional rival? I hope he prepares the team for a fight every game instead of assuming that the offense can “pile it on them.”

It’s a stretch to say the Cowboys played like the Rams, because if Sam Hurd catches that onside kick like he should have, we know the Cowboys would have won that game because Nick Folk has got a strong leg. It was those kind of errors that helped the Redskins win, not the normal penalties.

The secondary was awful. Terence Newman was crushed for two touchdowns, and nearly three.

“I don’t think we were too relaxed. We knew this was a good opponent and obviously a good rivalry game,” Romo said during the press conference. It did not jive with what the head coach said.

Did anyone catch that rat Daniel Snyder in the locker room? “If we’re physical, we win!” the idiot owner screams in the locker room like he is a manager for some WWE wrestler. His face was all red, and boy was Danny excited about this win in week 4.

The loss certainly throws the division in disarray. A clear-cut winner is not there, but I guess one can choose the NY Giants because the Cowboys will not beat that team if they play like they did today. I saved the game tape. I will try to cut through it this week and let you all in on what I see.

But just keep this in mind: The Cowboys played a very poor game and lost. The Redskins played a very good, error free game, and won.

Terrell Owens said at the press conference that the Redskins corners did a lot of bump and runs, and it took him and Romo off the routes. What a game plan! The Cowboys defense ought to try this approach because once again there was way too much cushion on the Redskins receivers.

“I didn’t feel any relaxation in our team,” Owens repeated.

If Romo and Owens didn’t sense that the players appeared relaxed, why did we?

Chad is the funniest person on the show. This is my favorite show on tv! Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed reading it. I'm adding your rss feed to my Google reader, keep up the good posts!

I need to correct my preivous statement, i missed texas, thelandryhat and david's posts, they too speak the truth, it's nice to see fans who can lose and still live in reality. My props to you gentleman.

thelandryhat: well doesn't mean anything except that he's a good business man, has nothing to do with morals or character, hence the ghetto statement. Stienbrenner has how many? who's another one treating a national past time like a virtual fantasy activity.
I coached baseball for 10 years and we preach team work and there's no "I" in team. It's sad that professional sports has become what it is. There's no more building teams from rookies and good coaching, no it's look at me I made a tackle or caught a pass now pay me. And the owner buying players like plastic monoply hotels and houses just to make more money. Ok I get off my soap box now, it just saddens me how money has ruined the purest sport known to man.

Oh and as far as getting the ball to Jones and Barber there was a reason, you guys couldn't run on us, 44 yards? I believe the last game in DC you gained a whole "1" yard against us rushing. You had to throw because you were playing catch up the entire game. As far as, Romo's stats, they were skewed because of the last drive, we played prevent.
Dallas has shown no secondary defense at all this year. You've faced to bad teams Browns and Packers with no real threat on offense, you've faced two teams with a real offense and you given up 64 points! in 2 games 64 points!
It seems the only truth I see spoken by a dallas fan here is from Joesph, you have my respect Joesph.

Welcome Sonny. He's an owner with three super bowl rings.

Take care.

The bottom line is you have a coach who has no control of his team, his team is not behind him. You have an owner who is the epitome of the work "Ghetto". What owner comes on the field at the end of the game when their team is losing as if to rally the troops? Really?
The cowboys lost at home favored by 10 1/2 points against a team with a rookie coach a second year quaterback learning his 3 offense in 4 years. Nuff said. The cowboys didn't lose they got beat. A group of men all fighting for a common cause will defeat a bunch of superstars every time, just ask the patriots!

The Truth is that Jerry Jones had a small stroke and then got over it rather quickly.  When he came back to reality, he was thinking on how he could assassinate Sam Hurd...

Capital Punishment, you're soo right.  Man, I thought he took a dump in his pants right there on the field the way his hands clenched and he made that grimace.  Maybe he was just constipated.

Also I think we can say that this is one time you wouldent mind having Roy on the field maybe he isnt so bad after all.

Ok first I think they were to busy trying to get the ball to T.O. that we forgot all about Felix Jones. Romo was trying so hard to force balls to him the whole game and T.O. acts like they didnt try enough. Landryhat I belive Miles Austin is still holding up really notice they played him alot more. It seemed like he was out there more than Crayton at times. Also I am kinda glad we lost I think everyone including the team itself thought they were just to perfect unstoppable. Now they know not to take any team to seriously we are a superbowl team but we also make rookie moves like 12 men on the field.

Glad you mentioned Dan the man, on a related note Jerry "skeletor" Jones looked like he nearly blew his sphincter on that failed onside kick.  Maybe next time J man!

Hey at least the penalties were down again for the second consecutive week... And David, I really think it's about time the players on defense get the brunt of the blame. It's their fault that they are missing assignments and screwing up.

I honestly believe we are overreacting so much because we have such high expectations for the team. Maybe in a couple of days we will cool off and realize it's still September. Plenty of time to get better and make adjustments. Our fans have to realize that the NFC east is going to be absolutely vicious, and these games are going to happen. I'm not even as ashamed anymore, I was seething earlier. The Redskins are playing that damn good right now.

The good news is Cincinnati comes to town next week, followed by Arizona, St. Louis (away games) and finishing the month at home against Tampa. Judging those teams, we are in good shape to run off an undefeated October. Keep everything in the proper perspective guys. Still early.

im all for it and thats what i meant,  who goes farther in the playoffs....

David, I'm not afraid to back up my talk with some action.  I don't have a lot of money, but veteran LandryHat fans will know I had a bet with him last year and won a sincere apology from him that should still be posted on this site in the december archives.

I'm happy to offer up the chance for you to post something humiliating on Riggo's Rag.  I think my promise last year was to buy one of Landry's Cowboy t-shirts and post a picture of me wearing it or something.

My only condition is that I'm not interested in final regular season record.  It's how far in the playoffs you go that really matters.  The Patriots had a shitty season at 16 and 0 and the giants had a great year despite a crappy regular season.  If you want to make a bet, it has to be a bet that involves Dallas (or the Redskins for that matter) being forced to win when it really counts -- in the post season.

Ugh Im glad im finally home...I got heckled by these damn redskins fans today. Anyhow We played bad but we could have still won the game but "could" doesnt cut it. Let me remind you that the redskins DID NOT dominate. If they did, the game would have been a blow out and it was not. Romo...DAMN IT you need stop throwing Ints. 7th straight game with a pick. The defence laid an egg. If we keep playing like that were not going anywhere

thats why i said we need to get rid of brian stewart....he has to much talent and not getting the job done...

Landry, I understand your frustration.

You can't get Felix Jones without Marion Barber. Marion Barber takes a beating and dishes one out too. He had two stupid play calls from Garrett with the delayed hand off which was doomed from the beginning.

The Barber-Felix formula only works if Barber has already softened up the defense. The Redskin special teams took him out of the punt and kick return game. Garrett was the one who took Barber and Felix out of the offensive game!

well said joseph..today the redskins were the better team....

And when I say sorry Dallas, I'm mostly referring to this aura of invincibility our players seem to have. Our defense and some of the players of offense give me a bad vibe. I don't like their attitudes. Terrence Newman was looking for someone to take the blame on one of Santana's catch I think. No asshole, it was YOUR fault. Be a man and point to your chest and say it was you.

Santana Moss racks up 145 yards WITHOUT Roy Williams in the lineup. People like to blame him for horrible coverage, that's fine. But don't blame all of it on him. I hate the players right now. I hate Newman and Hamlin right now. I'm never comfortable with these players with the game on the line. I've always felt the secondary is a bit overrated. Philly lights them up. Now Washington? Jeez.

It is digusting that Marion Barber saw the ball just eight times and Felix Jones, who has had big touchdowns in every damn game, never saw the ball. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF GAMEPLAN IS THIS?

The Redskins proved today they can play with the best, the "super bowl ready" Cowboys.

The NFC East will leave one very good football team out of the playoffs. The Redskins cannot be easily dismissed anymore as the odd team out. We learned the Cowboys are not invincible. The Redskins secondary played outstanding against Terrell Owens. Marion Barber needed more carries. Marion needs more attempts to wear down the front four, and when that doesn't happen, you lose the Felix Jones dimension on offense. The Cowboys played with very little balance. Romo threw the ball 47 times! Dallas lucked out too. Washington had some penalties in the red zone that negated a touchdown twice. Sorry Dallas, but games like Buffalo only come around once in a looong while. Cowboys got burned today by a better team. Is that fair to say? Sure is.

rg,

whatever you want....and its not imaginary money..ill take any money when i see a good bet...and i just dont like guys like you that just pop off....like i said good win you deserved it...but we will see at the end of the year....

plus if he's here with those fruits that are also commenting it means they're not on their own site lmao

who cares if they have romo's number.... it's a rivalry game everyone knows you throw stats and spreads out.  This was a much bigger win for the skins than it was a loss for the cowboys.... skins played there hearts out and barely squeaked by dallas played like shit and wasnt out of it til less than 2 minutes to go.......

let idiot stick around it don't matter they will still the reside in the basement of the NFC East when all is said and done.

You guys have to admit, we seem to have Romo's number. 1-3 isn't just some fluke.

David: I don't have 5 grand because I'm poor, but I'm willing to make a more interesting and potentially humiliating bet if you like.  Email me if you are interested and have the balls to do more than talk big and throw around imaginary money on a chat board as if that makes you a man.

Erik: If you think we're the same team that lost to the Giants, you haven't been paying attention.

Octopus: It's funny how in your world the better team keeps losing consistantly. Is your operational definition of the word better "the team that plays in Dallas" by any chance? I suspect it is, because that's the only correlation I can see.  You argue that you're a better team against the Giants last year because you played better.  Well today the Redskins outplayed, outcoached, and outlasted you.  We dominated you.  Look at the time of possession.  If you're going to judge last year's playoff loss based on the fact that you "should have won" that game and that you outplayed the Giants, how can you not give us props and aknowledge that we should have won today?  If you had gotten an on-sides kick and won the game at the last second, you would have robbed us the same way the Giants robbed you guys in the playoffs.   I also recall how many of you used your regular season victories over the Giants as further justification that your team was better than New York.  Now all of a sudden, you're changing your tune.

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth, and you can't have it both ways;  I expect that sort of thing from Dan, but you've always been more level-headed and objective.

Was I surprised? Sure.  Mostly because I expected TO to get another three touchdowns like he did last year and I wasn't sure we could hang with that.  Our defense stepped up and shut you guys down when it really mattered.  Springs really picked up his game.

Give us props for being the better team...at least the better team THIS WEEK.  Because that's exactly what we were.

WIN A PLAYOFF GAME BEFORE YOU ANNOUNCE YOURSELVES AS SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS.
PS ROMO IS ONLY DATING JESSICA SO HE CAN TAKE HER FATHERS WEINER IN HIS BOTTOM.

26-24!!!!  HOMO IS 1-3 AGAINST SKINS, ONE MILLION TO ZERO WITH TAKING WEINER IN BOTTOM!

We'll have to deal with idiot for about 4 days.

i believe the giants destroy you and yet u say nobody cant stop us..hahahahahahah ur one funny dude...its ok i know this is a miracle win for you guys brag all u want next week come we will be 4-1 and u will be 3-2 so im happy bout that

Nobody can stop yall hahhahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa just wait! FEWLLLLLLLLS

Reskins guy... yall beat us fair and square whatever that means. I'm just saying that we should have run the ball more than 10 times. And I'm sure as a football fan you can agree. But I know you are shocked that yall beat us. No doubt about that I can give you this game of horrible coaching and really bad reff. mistakes. I don't care what you say skins fans we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then you!

rg, you guys played a great game but dont be an idiot...if you want to be then put your fucking money where your mouth is..5k says we go farther than you this year....if you aint accepting then dont even bother answering and take your nice win...

Don't blame your coach David.

You just can't stop us!!!

NOBODY can!

gayskin girl u didnt kick our ass..well i know the gayskins dont have blowout games...we hang in there we had a chance to win..beating some1s ass means that the person had no chance oviously u never kicked some1s ass..we r still the better team..talk all u want this week u still got the eagles comin up next...so laugh all u want because when next week comes u will be upset and we will show what kick ass means when we take on the bengals

Oh, and Dan, don't you think you're being a bit harsh to compare your 3-1 Cowboys to the winless Rams?

I mean...the Rams had a lead for a large part of the game.  You make it sound like they were dominated like you guys were.  I think you owe the Rams an apology, mister! They nearly won!

Hey...Where is everybody?

*crickets chirping*

brian stewart needs to be fired....that defense has to much talent to allow that shit today.....fire his sorry ass....

Octopus, if your team is soooo much better, how could we come into Texas stadium and kick the shit out of you? And don't you dare give me dropped on-side kick or penalties.  We OWNED you the entire game.  We played prevent the last time you scored and could have been a lot tougher except we knew that a TD wouldn't be enough for you.

The stats, the game, the time of possession, the turnover, and the score all favored us.  How can you say you're the better team with a straight face? You guys are delusional.  The better team wins guys.  You consistantly lose when it really matters.

BY DEFINITION, you are not the better team.  Just like you weren't the better team against New York last year.  Just like you won't be the better team when you lose in the first round of the playoffs this year.  Tony Romo is so enamored with himself that he wants to pick up his superbowl trophy before he's even earned a single playoff win.  That's a recipe for failure.

How bout giving F. Jones the ball once on offense? Whatever skins fans enjoy the super bowl of yalls year.  Great coaching all around from the boy's!

Nice game Dallas.  Another big L against the skins'.  Tony Homo is 1-3 against the Redskins and 0-2 in the playoffs.  Until you guys win a playoff game, why don't you quit all the Super Bowl and Tony Homo in Canton talk, and suck my man love pump.  It was good beating you in this last rivalry game in Texas stadium, enjoy the loss.

p.s. win a playoff game.

p.p.s. Marion is a girl's name.

p.p.p.s. T.O. blows.

Look we didn't give Marion the ball! I can't believe landryhat didn't mention this......... I'm sooooooo pissed.

We are a waaaaaaaay better team then the skins! Our coaches desearve this loss.

this is hardly a big loss to us i've not heard a thing about dallas getting ready for the redskins it's all been skins prepping for dallas...... this is not as big a loss to us as it is to the skins jerry's building is next door im sure he'd much rather have the first win there than the last win at texas stadium.

still they played their best we played shitty and lost by 2 points and still had a chance under 2 minutes to go....... i dont see calling them the rams that bad..... nothing a few drinks cant fix tonight and if anyone in this area (washington) says shit tomorrow throw them from the metro platform..... no seriously  and shout "you're still the 4th best team in the nfc east"

How's bout giving Felix the ball? Are we trying to make T.O. happy?

How bout giving Barber the ball more then 8 times? This was a complete embarresment of coaching. WTF?

They are killing us in the turnover battle...
WE DONT GET ANY!!!!

What do the RAMS, LIONS, BENGALS, CHIEFS and COWBOYS all have in common?
They are the only teams without a PICK… in week 4, that is unexceptable… If the defense dont start making plays, we cant reach our potential..
