Dallas Cowboys Release Evan Oglesby

by Cowboys

In what is somewhat of a surprise move, the Dallas Cowboys releases cornerback Even Oglesby to make roster space for Keith Davis. Oglesby has a great camp and decent preseason, and looked to have solidified a spot on the roster. But picking up Davis changed things.

The play of Orlando Scandrick certainly made Oglesby expendible.

Want Cowboys tickets at face value??? Better act fast. There are still some available, but they won't last long. I just got through checking the availability, and there are some to see Philly for sure. I didn't check the rest.

I will say though, with all of our different opinions on these players Dan, I am starting to agree with you about Stanback. I really like the guy, but the consistent injuries are just bringing him to a fast forwarded ending. He better get healthy and stay healthy or he won't be on the roster next year. As for Scandrick, I've got my good eye on you. Don't think I don't.

When a player is walking beside the play there is a problem. I was there, and he did that and against the Texans, but I hope your right Dan.

When a player gives up on a play before the whistle, I notice. Evidently some (or most) of us don't. He has skills, but he lacks consistent effort. That's all I am saying.

LiLi, I think Scandrick is going to be a star.

The team has to go with what they need right now which is speed.  Scandrick has the speed and the strength to keep up with top notch wide receivers and bump heads with runners.  How can you say that you weren't that impressed with his showing?  I think you are the only one out there that wasn't.  Special unit teams aren't the place to look during the preseason to see what someone has to offer.  He's just going to the do what he has to so that he doesn't get hurt.  Look during the regular season, you'll likely see more.  Every entry I've read about the Cowboys has something positive to say about Scandrick. Can you say barely 21? The cowboys would be stupid not to put this guy out there right now.  Pacman should pack it up, Scandrick is playing like he wants a starting spot and the coaches aren't stupid, they see it.  I'm Chiefs fan, but I have to say that while we've picked up some great rookies, he's seriously impressive and everyone that saw that game against the Texans are saying the same thing.

Someone had to go to make space for him. I personally think the offensive line is too stacked with bodies, because some of those guys have proven that they CAN NOT PLAY AT AN NFL LEVEL.  Also, I disagree with everyone saying that Scandrick had a great showing, because what I saw of him was a lack of effort on special teams, and only a few flashes here and there in the secondary. He IMO should have been placed on the practice squad and if Dallas is going after another QB anyway, Bartell should have been the one released. It's contradicting moves. Moves that in the end likely will not matter too much, because if we actually have to see any of these guys play on Sunday, we're in deep crap.

If Brooks Bollinger makes the 53 man roster and Scandrick is released, that would piss me off, but that is only because I believe Bollinger, or even Simms for that matter, have nothing to bring to this team. In the end though, like I said before, If we have to see these guys play on Sunday...

I hate this move. He has shown he may have the knack for interceptions. Those are game changing. What has Ball done? If it was a money move. now is the time not to be worrying about it. Stupid
