Sound The Horn In Dallas
Once again, rumors are flying that Joe Horn is going to be a Dallas Cowboy soon. There are several posts on Yardbarker this morning citing “numerous sources” that it is inevitable he will be in silver and blue. It is possible that Miles Austin’s knee is worse off than originally thought. There really doesn’t appear to be a whole lot of confidence in Sam Hurd or Miles Austin at this point.
Meanwhile, an even better wide receiver is demanding a trade. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin wants out, telling ESPN he has no relationship with coach Ken Whisenhunt. Boldin has three years left on the four-year, $22.75 million deal he made in 2005.
A team spokesman said the Cardinals have no plans to trade the sixth-year standout and still hope to sign him to a contract extension.
Whisenhunt sounded puzzled when discussing reports that Boldin had said he was no longer speaking to the coach.
“We’ve been communicating,” he said. “If communicating is talking, that’s what we have been doing at practice. As we go forward, I don’t know. I don’t foresee anything changing. If it does, it’s in his court.”
You can be almost 100 percent sure that Jerry Jones is eyeing Boldin. What he could offer, I am not really sure, but if Boldin really wants out of Arizona, there is a starting spot waiting for him in Dallas. Trade the Cardinals Patrick Crayton and Bobby Carpenter and a fourth round pick.

go ahead and sing horn….oh yeah I said that 10 years ago haha. I much rather have boldin. I would trade a first rounder for him a heartbeat
August 20th, 2008 at 6:18 amWhy give up a first-round pick when we can throw our hat in the ring next year when he’s out of contract and get him for free? I’d love to give up Carpenter and maybe a Jay Ratliff or Marcus Spears and a second rounder for him. I don’t think they’d bite on Crayton because they have Steve Breaston and Early Doucet, both of whom will be better than Crayton.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:29 amHe is under contract until 2010.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:37 amJust saw that and was on my way back to correct it.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:45 amNow that would be a treat. Boldin playing for the Cowboys. I already know Jerry is thinking about it.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:47 amBest wishes to Joe Horn.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:00 amPlease don’t let Sean Payton see that Boldin information. WR’s to Payton are like QB’s to Gruden.
Guys horn sucks and there is no way we will get boldin without giving up at least a 1st round pick maybe 2. Do you really think they would want losers like carpenter…
August 20th, 2008 at 7:15 amWell now that Horn has been released from the Falcons, yall should have no problem picking him up.
August 20th, 2008 at 8:35 amI think we’ve been here before… Boldin isn’t going anywhere. MAYBE next year, but not this year. Horn is 36 years old. That is THIRTY SIX YEARS OLD ! Terrell Owens is 34, but he is a freak of nature. Horn has missed a significant amount of games in each of the last 3 years. He only had 27 receptions for 243 yards and ONE touchdown last year. If he had anything left he should have been a star in Atlanta. Instead of being their leading receiver, he was released. I’m sorry, but I don’t want a receiver that the FALCONS released. Let the Dolphins have him. Although, I guess it would be worth giving him a chance to prove he is not washed up, and if he can’t then release him again.
August 20th, 2008 at 10:55 am1. Joe Horn is washed up.
2. Anquan Boldin is not going anywhere.
3. Dallas is not thinking about trading for Anquan Boldin. They just extended TO, and gave a decent amount of money to Patrick Crayton to be the 2. If they get another receiver, it will be a cheap vet like Horn.
4. Why would Arizona want trash like Bobby Carpenter? That trade you proposed wouldn’t even work in Madden.
August 20th, 2008 at 1:33 pmYeah Joe Horn should get a workout from us and if he does good he should be signed.
August 20th, 2008 at 3:07 pmHere is a artical from espn by Matt Mosley. This is the most desperate attempt to stir up negativity about Owens that iv ever read. Its just pathetic.
August 20th, 2008 at 3:48 pmhttp://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfceast/0-2-99/T-O–questions-Cowboys–game-plan-in-playoff-loss.html
Ian, you need to worry about your team. Kevin Curtis is gone for the year with a ripped out hernia. Not good. Start worrying buddy because now you have an undersized rookie possibly starting. Hilarious.
August 20th, 2008 at 5:27 pmIf Boldin is going anywhere in the NFC East, it’s to the Eagles. The situation reminds me of a few weeks ago when the Redskins got Jason Taylor after an injury.
TDCowboys, how exactly is that article an attempt to stir up negativity? I mean, if Owens actually said those things, he’s the one who sounds negative. And whiny. I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, since I don’t know enough about the situation, but the article doesn’t make TO sound bad. His quotes do.
August 20th, 2008 at 9:40 pmI JUST GOT SOME BAD NEWS FROM SI.COM,,,, more injuries
SI.com- The Cowboys’ received another blow to the linebacker position when Anthony Spencer underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday morning.
Spencer, the backup to Greg Ellis at one of the outside linebacker spots, will miss two to four weeks after having a loose chip removed.
damn all of a sudden all of our depth is thinning….i dont like it …. START THE DAMN SEASON ALREADY!
August 21st, 2008 at 1:39 amRG if you burned the Giants all season long then you get injured and bust your ass to comeback and play, and they dont throw to you, you’d have some words to say yourself. This is something he told a reporter months after it happened and you can almost garuntee his words were twisted and to quote Oops, am I screwing up the whole “T.O. has changed” storyline. My bad. Just seems petty to me
August 21st, 2008 at 1:13 pmTDCowboys, It reeks of a situation last year, when Owens was quoted as saying Jessica Simpson needs to stay the hell away from the Cowboys. It was the most unbelievable controversy of the year, and if you watched the whole interview with reporters at his locker, everybody was laughing, and he was obviously joking. Whenever a reporter puts out a quote, they usually don’t tell you what the mood and situation was like, or the context of the quote.
Now as for Owens, for him to be speaking about this almost eight months later, tells me that the situation was not handled appropriately. Phillps and Garrett, and I’m sure they did, needed to have a conversation with Owens to explain their reasoning as to why they deferred from Owens. Both sides should have expressed their feelings and compromised, agreeing to move on. For Owens to be making these comments now, tells me that the issue went unresolved, and the situation wasn’t talked out. If coaches or players allow issues to be ignored, the disagreements can spill out into the media.
I don’t know anything about Matt Mosley, but I know he went fishing on Tuesday.
