Dallas Cowboys Romped In Mile High City

by Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys looked real bad Saturday. Sorry for the longest absence I have ever had from the site, but I had some business to take care of, and I had to retool a bit for the coming season.

The biggest news from Saturday’s game was the injury to Miles Austin, who was vying for that third reciever spot. He sprained his knee and right now it’s not known how much time he will miss.

The Cowboys lost 23-13, and had a chance to tie it with third stringer Richard Bartel, but he threw an interception that was almost returned for a touchdown.

The defense, first and second teams, looked awful, The tackling was ridiculously bad. The first-team defense got brutally abused by the Broncos. The penalities hurt even more, a sign that the team is not disciplined enough (See Camp Marshmallow post).

The Cowboys are now 0-2 in preseason. Nothing really to fret about, but what we are learning is we’re not looking invincible, and if god forbid there are major injuries to starters, the Cowboys could be in some deep, deep trouble.

RG, Do NOT mess up my spin ;-)

His record with a less talented Buffalo team was decent. So with a deeper and more talented team he should be able to take it all the way. He should have ridden Doug Flutie all the way instead of going with the backup guy whose name eludes me. Too long ago

Also, Washington DC area stations tend to show NFC-east matchups whenever possible.  I suspect you'll see them a lot.  And if you don't get it one week, you could try going to a sports bar.

as far as I know the Dallas/Cleveland game will be on national TV (CBS) Trust me Dallas will be on national TV ALOT this year. I saw ALL cowboys games last season. when there is a will there is a way.

Maybe the Pats and Dallas can BOTH suck this year.  Then Christmas would come early and all would be right in the world again. :)

New England isn't doing so hot either. Even if Brady were to be healthy, he wouldn't play more than a few series in those games.

Yeah, it has been a bad preseason so far. Maybe Dallas can finish out strong and the younger players on special teams and defense can start performing in game situations.

Staubach, Buffalo rarely won in the preseason under Wade. Since you're looking to that team as a model, refresh my memory. How did Wade's Bills do in the playoffs again? I forget. :)

Camp Marshmellow strikes again.

Dan, I feel your pain, but I rejoice in the knowledge that you'll be able to watch each and every Redskins game this season. Not everyone can say that you know!

I wonder if the Dallas v Cleveland game will be on national TV. I bypassed getting the NFL ticket this year because I have no damn money and it is killing me. I do have Sirius radio, but I don't have the indoor antenna stuff yet. I might be getting my Cowboys only on radio this year, which sucks for the landry hat.

Looks like the starters will get alot of playin' time on friday. No worries from me. The 1st team will dominate this week....I'm sure about that.

Here is my spin. Buffalo rarely won in preseason under Wade. Then when the season started they seemed to be back on track. So maybe we are seeing the same pattern. So here is the big spin. We have peaked too early the past couple of years. Would rather see us "struggle" early and kick it in to high gear in mid to later season. Do not want to burn out before the playoffs.
