Dallas v San Diego Preview

Preseason offers just a glimpse of your starters, but it proves valuable because it provides a much larger picture of your back ups and rookies. Oftentimes, you can spot the up-and-coming star in preseason games.

With that said, the Dallas Cowboys take on the San Diego Chargers at 10 p.m. EST, at the same time a UFC PPV fight starts. It might be hard to turn away from something that costs me $50 to watch, so I will probably just record the game. No live blog tonight, guys.

However, here is what we should keep an eye on during this game: Felix Jones and Tashard Choice should get some carries. It will be interesting to see what the Cowboys do if Choice outplays Jones in the preseason. These guys won’t be facing cream of the crop talent, but someone has to show signs of greatness.

As for the secondary, it will be exciting to see Adam Jones in action as a Cowboy. I will also have my eye on Evan Oglesby, who according to this blogger, has had a great camp.

As for receivers, we all want to know who is going to solidify that third receiver spot. Will it be Sam Hurd? Miles Austin? Isaiah Stanback? I am putting my money on Hurd, but the Cowboys did interchange Hurd and Austin quite a bit last year, and they could do it again. Stanback has not looked great in camp, according to reports, so we’ll see. I wish I knew why Jerry Jones loves this guy so much. We also get to see Danny Amendola try and make the team.

lmao i defended him and wouldnt crap on him........until now from the returns and his choices i vote him out lmao im ok with amendola taking his spot on team so we dont risk losing that kid

Stanback just needs to work on his consistency. From reading the Dallas Morning News blog about training camp, he's either awe-inspiring or just mediocre. He'll get there, though. He was sidelined for ages with his Lisfranc injury. He's been making progress during this camp, though, and I bet that he could push Hurd and Austin for that third spot.

Man, I can't wait.  That's what I have to do also.  I'm ordering the UFC PPV, but DVRing the game and watch it after.  I hate not being able to watch it real time, but sometimes you just are not able to.  A perfect night to me would be a TD opening offensive series, a TD for Felix Jones at some point, an Adam Jones interception, and for Danny Amendola to have a great game and back up all the Wes Welker comparisons !
