The Star: It is A Way of Life

by Cowboys

The first series of HBO’s Hard Knocks covering the Dallas Cowboys training camp shows a scene of a shirtless Terrell Owens running on the beach. The scene fades to Jason Witten reading to his toddler.

It is one day before training camp for the Dallas Cowboys, America’s Team. Michael Irvin’s voice over sums up the season.

“This season is about one thing: Win a Super Bowl. Win.”

Irvin’s voice fades and in comes HBO’s announcer with a voice over a frame of the star being placed on the silver Dallas Cowboys’ helmet:

“This is no ordinary helmet. The star sets it apart, it symbolizes the most glamorous team in professional sports. For the Dallas Cowboys, the star is more than a symbol; It is a way of life.”

If you missed the show or don’t have HBO, don’t fret. By tomorrow, I will share with you my four favorite clips. We’ll learn a little about Adam Jones‘ super human powers and how he taught wide receiver Patrick Crayton his tricks. We’ll see what it means from a rookie’s perspective to learn he is a Dallas Cowboy. We’ll see just how powerful Marion Barber is to end all speculation that he is not a top-5 NFL running back. And we’ll also see some penis envy. Yes, I said penis envy.
