We all sort of chuckled when the Washington Redskins drafted three receivers in a row in the 2008 draft. Never will we truly understand what that was all about. But, some sense of it is piecing together now.
Third rounder Malcolm Kelly is likely gone for the year before he even takes a snap. His knees are being evaluated and he may need a scope. He has missed practice with a hamstring injury, but now he has reported stiffness in his knees. What is more shocking is most teams removed Kelly from their draft boards because he has bad knees. But, now the geniuses who operate the Redskins. They saw something in Kelly’s bum knees. I guess this explains why the Redskins waited to draft him after picking a wide out and a tight end before him? I am just speculating the strategy of this dumb move, is all. Just speculation.
What is interesting are the comments on the Washington Post’s blog about Kelly’s problems. Let’s share a few:
- “dang it.”
- “Not Good…”
- “With Kelly’s history of knee problems, the Skins knew what they were getting. His chances of contributing at all this season are slowly spiraling down the toilet like a big brown turd with a cute little toilet paper hat on top.”
- “That is not encouraging. Dang-it!!!”
- “ouch…that sounds really painful.”
These are the same idiots who are now proclaiming Colt Brennan an NFL star because of his stupid pre season debut. Give us a break, Redskins fans. How pathetic.

L hat …i agreee with everything you said…drafting a wide receiver proves to be a huge risk at all, let alone 3…BUT as much as i HATE the redskins….i would be willing to bet that by the end of the year, campbell will be pushed aside for colt brennan….

let me ponder on that i’m in 3 open draft leagues, the commisioner of one and i’m in another dynasty league. also a nascar league, with 2 girls in college, and a son that just bought a house, and a wife who would probably file for divorice if i join one more thing, but as i said let me ponder it for a day or so. hey i’m real thin here
I’m a huge fan of Redskins and I always watch their game together with my family. I hope they win this season.
