The Miami Dolphins didn’t want Akin Ayodele. They wanted Bobby Carpenter. That tidbit is according to this story.
As if Miami hasn’t raped our staff and players enough, they wanted to get Carpenter, a former first-round pick, and second-round pick Anthony Fasano for just a fourth-round pick? Let’s hope that wasn’t the case. But if it was, kudos to the Dallas Cowboys for pushing that offer away.
“This is still a great opportunity for me, and [inside linebacker] is a place where I think I can use my athletic ability to make plays,” Carpenter said. “If I’m going to have a shot to play, I want it to be here.”
Seems Danny Amendola is turning heads at rookie camp already. Jerry Jones had this to say about him:
“He’s certainly showed he’s refined,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after the first rookie practice Friday. “He will be able to separate. He’s going to be able to get away from people. I’m glad we got him.”
Coach Wade Phillips said:
“He’s quick, changes speeds well, I like that in a wide receiver, in camp everybody has noticed him, he’s doing well.”
