Julius Jones is such a little girl. I came across this stomach-turning article today and I must say I am not surprised that he wanted out of Dallas. We the fans are not going to put up with running backs who cannot hit holes or break tackles. Jones did appear to have a promising career in Dallas, but something happened. Now we know what that “something” is:
Jones’ curiosity with all things Seahawks and Seattle began during a Monday night game at Qwest Field in 2004, when he rushed for a career-high 198 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 43-39 victory. The appeal only increased during the Cowboys’ playoff loss to the Seahawks at Qwest after the 2006 season, when Jones ran for 112 yards.
Isn’t that special? He plays well in Seattle and then all of the sudden he wants to play for Seattle. Great. But, it gets worse.
“I love playing here,” he said. “The atmosphere, it’s 10 times better than Dallas.”
Playing in a domed stadium (OK, so it’s not domed, but the Web site says it is multi-purpose dome and I don’t know how the ‘Hawks can play in a stadium without one in that weather) in a city of gray skies and rain is certainly a better atmosphere for a back-up running back such as Julius Jones. Enjoy your new digs, kid. We’re glad you’re happy.
