Pacman Deal Is Laced With Incentives

Adam “Pacman” Jones’  four-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys is worth $13 million, but if he performs well and behaves, he could end up making a whole lot more dough.
He could make as much as the franchise tag for a cornerback, which right now is $9.5 million a year. His base salary total is $4.7 million for three years, but in 2011 he will get $7.25 million. He will earn just $700,000 for this year without a signing bonus. In 2009, he will make $1 million; in 2010, $3 million. He will get signing bonuses in 2009-10 totaling just over $500,000 and another $345,000 in 2010.

But if he wants the franchise cash amount, he would need to make two Pro Bowls or intercept at least seven passes in any two of his first three seasons. He must also participate in 65 percent of the snaps. If he does that, he gets the $9.5 million for 2011.

In other news, the jersey numbers of some prominent players:

Felix Jones will be No. 28

Mike Jenkins will take Roy Williams’ No. 31

Martellus Bennett is No. 80

Pacman Jones will wear No. 21, which means if you are a Pacman fan, you don’t need to throw away your Julius Jones jersey!

You might be right. Personally I hope the NFC East continues to show dominance.  We're setting records getting three teams in the playoffs every year.  Let's continue that trend and let the NFC be our playground!

Tulip you can talk all the trash you want but in the end were going to be better then your sorry redskins. Mark my words!!!

wow redskins guy u make me laugh...i do believe terry glenn has one more year in him..and hopefully he will end up with a ring.. u shouldnt be laughin you should be praying and lighting candles at everysingle church you come across cuz u have no good wide receiver..all you have are rookies..and a guy name gay-tana moss who is 2 ft tall...and ur offensive line is one injury away from a disaster so if i was you i would get offline and star looking for that shooting star that you will need in a nearby future

I am sure there will be surprise roster cuts before the season begins. There always are.The still may look at Felix Jones in a pinch. He did play some receiver and he has the speed.

The only bells Terry Glenn is ringing is that one from Monty Python when they shout out "Bring out your dead!"  Glenn is done. If you're relying on him, I shall laugh a hearty, belly laugh at your team when he inevitably gets injured.  He used to be very good, but now he needs to retire before he loses what's left of his dignity.

i hope Terry Glenn can play this year and be effective. The guy makes some outstanding catches.

Terry Glenn will ring bells if he plays, until then, he's still a question mark.

terry glenn does that ring a bell?

From what I read, they are planning to use Bennett at the same time as Witten. They can put him on the line or split him out wide. Bennett's speed is comparable to a lot of the WR's in the draft this year, only he has more size to go with it. It would be awesome if this guy turns out to be like an Antonio Gates. But I agree that it would be better to have a speedy deep threat to count on and take some pressure off of TO. I daresay Crayton doesn't strike fear in the hearts of any defenses. Hopefully, Bennett will do that at some point. Who knows

jajajajajajajajajajajaja......................right i hope he does good............................-ether

Yeah, if TO goes down it ain't good. It still boggles my mind why we ignored a deep threat at all. It's possible to go to a 2 tight end set I guess.

We are definitly hurtin'  for a home run threat if TO goes down. Maybe they could line up Felix Jones at WR if that happens. :-/

Staub, I haven't paid attention to the scrubs Dallas has been picking up. Rare that any turn out to be much of anything. As for Stanback, not sure how fast he is. But he did return kicks and usually only fast guys do that. I really don't believe Stanback will be any better than Hurd or any other guy sitting the bench as a wide out. It looks like it will be TO and Crayton all over again.

Did you see where Dallas signed another WR? Joe West from the Miners. There will be a lot of competition. None of these guys have top speed though. We need someone the stretch the defense. How fast is Stanback?

Ian, you are out of your mind. Seriously. Go manlove McNabb, who will be benched mid season when the Eagles start out 1-7.

Dallas K, it does say J Jones?

It does? Well damn!!

At least it isn't laced with expletives ;-)

The only problem with keeping a Julius Jones jersey is that it says J. Jones on the back.  If you can somehow turn the J into an A or a P then you will be set!

Ian, I think Dan's point is that he should get to keep his SIGNING BONUS, no matter what. Unlike the Eagles, Dallas was smart enough to offer him a very small signing bonus with a lot of incentives for that very reason.

Wade and the Double J talk about the draft on KSK.  Read it here.  Good stuff.

You didn't write how you are completely against behavior clauses, and that Pac Man should get his contract in full no matter what.
