Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams says in this article that he wants to stay put, but he is well aware of all the trade rumor talks about him possibly coming to the Dallas Cowboys.
“Of course I want to stay in Detroit,” Williams said. “Everybody wants to stay with the team that drafted them. They are telling me I am going to be a Lion for at least one more season. That’s what I have on my mind.”
Clarence “I’m right more than I am wrong” Hill has a very interesting lede on his article, that says something about a possible draft-day trade between the Cowboys and Lions. I love how Clarence just pulls rabbits out of his hat. The Lions have to do something with Williams, who has just this year left on his contract. They could franchise him, which is a one-year $9 million deal, but then what? The Lions have to address this situation sooner or later. And we all know that this team is infamous for forcing the best running back ever to play the game to early retirement because the Lions brass never did anything to make them a true contender. Then they drafted 15 wide receivers in a row. I know, that was a bit facetious, but it seems like prime time for the Lions to shore up a decent offense. They can go find a real quarterback and continue to work on the defense, all the while hoping the backfield improves.
