Clarence “I’m Right More Than I Am Wrong” Hill Is At It Again

KFFL has these weird quick notes that state our one and only super-journalist Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram reports the Dallas Cowboys are looking to sign four star players to long-term deals. Here is what the weird quick notes say, without links:

Cowboys | Team looking to sign Barber long-term
Tue, 11 Mar 2008 18:14:50 -0700
Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports the Dallas Cowboys are looking to sign restricted free-agent RB Marion Barber III to a long-term deal.

Well, how much credibility does any of this have? Hill is the same journalist who reported to us all that Marion Barber was only getting a 1st round pick tender, which scared the living crap out of most of us.

This time, I think the Super Journalist might be on to something. If Jerry Jones signs long-term deals for these four guys, he might be able to free up some more cap room. I am not sure because the whole cap crap is confusing and tedious. But if Jerry Jones can free up more cap room, it is another piece of evidence that he will be moving up in the draft, almost certainly giving away the two first-round picks, to draft Darren McFadden.

You know, I bet Jerry Jones traded that pick to Cleveland last year with the plan that if he had two first-round picks, he has more trading power to get McFadden. I wouldn’t doubt JJ told McFadden last year he would be a Cowboy at almost any cost.

But where is our cornerback for the future? Who will be our wide receiver for the future (seriously guys, cut the crap on this Stanback stuff, because it’s just pie in the sky right now)? Who will be our safety for the future?

The Cowboys may have been 13-3 last year, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t flaws that could be fixed with those two first-round picks. I am losing sleep over this damn stuff!!

DAVID I SURGEST YOU GET IT IN YOUR HEAD BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN GET OVER IT.

Uh...I'd sooner change my name on Riggo's rag actually. I've never made any attempt to hide who I am, in fact I think I made a post on this site announcing it when I made the change in January.  If there's some sort of rules violation that I need to abide by, I'll happily do so if you'll point me in the right direction and inform me of what the rule is.  So far all I've seen are unprovoked threats for no apparent reason. If this is just some sort of demented way to pick on me, kindly kiss my posterior.

The Dolphins need to change their name to "The Cowboy's Scrubs."  Nate Jones signed with them also today.

They are THE worst...thats y its good to see that they r the only team in the division w/o a ring, in a division that has the most rings.

You have been warned: Change your name back to gehenna or face disciplinary action.

For once we're agreed.  I very nearly pasted a couple of Eagles fans a few years ago at FedEx.  Shawn Springs had gone down with what looked like a VERY serious injury and two Eagles dipshits sitting behind me were talking at length about how they hoped he had a career ending injury. Definitely reminded me of the Irvin-eagles thing.  I stood up and turned around and told them off.  I'm not exactly sure what I said, but even though they were a step above me I towered over them (I'm a big dude and they were scrawny little bastards).  They were smart enough not to talk back or I think they would have been torn to pieces by a mob of enraged Redskins fans (myself included). They sulked away and the entire section applauded.  Fortunately Springs wasn't that seriously hurt, but I can only imagine how you guys felt when Irvin was laying there motionless.  I hate the cowboys, but there are things you don't wish upon even your worst enemies.  And THAT is why Eagles fans are some of the worst in the NFL.

Hey Lance thats the same reason I hate the eagles and their fans the most was because of the irvin injury...as far as roy goes Im right there with u...everytime I see shockey and cooley lined up one on one with him I just put my head down cause I know whats about to happen

redskingirl, everyone is calling you a tulip....( i will take credit for that one too.... my good buddy:).....now, I  saw you guys talkin about which fans you hate the most....I LIVE IN NY....TRY BEING ME RIGHT NOW!!!....but i hate the eagles fans the most, i cant get the image of irvin  laying on the field out of my head, and those trailer park deggenerate  fans cheering...oh and i cant stand those fat cross dressing fruitcakes either, what kind of man dresses up like a woman, but I hear thats the new thing in DC these days...now back to football, i only want D-mac, if we trade with atlanta and get hall in return, WE must adress the secondary in this draft without question..... we cant let our eyes get big and just go dmac crazy, we already have mb3, and although i am not sold on the fact that he wont get injured very soon, we can find someone to give 6-7 carries a game in the second or late first, and pair him with mb3....corners and safetys boys, and we always must adress the pass rush .....thats the reason the giants and that gap tooth loser and wife beater strahan won the superbowl......if we can get pacman cheap, and sign him to a low risk contract....do it right away NO question..... and by the way ROY WILLIAMS is awful, and needs to be replace immediatley, b/c next year i am just gonna sit there again and again and watch coolet, smith, and shockey or boss light him up, NO i have had it with him, you didnt deserve that probowl bid roy, your pissin me off son...maybe i can get your wife kelly rowland to play safety, she seems to be more of a man than you.

Wayne,Dmac aint coming here.  Everyone needs to get that out of their head.

You all may hate D-Mac now but when he has the star on his helmet you'll change your tune you guys sound like the philadelphia fans that wanted ricky "smokin" williams.

wow, i apologize for the last post, i forgot i wasn't logged in so i had to copy, paste, log in and repost and it must have stuck some extra html in there.....

Atlanta does want a QB for their first pick in the draft despite having
Chris Redman and Joey Harrington.  If they stay with #3 it will be Matt
Ryan.  If we trade them it will consist of giving up our first rounders
and some disposable players for their #3 and DeAngelo Hall.  No
starters of ours would be involved.  Then they would get rid of Hall
which is one of their main goals for the offseason, and with our #22
they would still get a good QB in Brian Brohm.  Miami is now showing
interest in drafting Matt Ryan instead of Chris Long.  I doubt they
would do that, but if they did then that REALLY paves the way for this
to happen because of course he wouldn't be available.  It would
basically force them to go that route because it wouldn't make any
sense at all not to.  By the way, the two teams that are dealing with
the Falcons concerning Hall are the Giants and a "mystery" team, most
likely the Cowboys.  The Giants have already offered their #31 pick for
Hall straight up, but have been shot down so far because our deal is
obviously better.  None of this can really go down until draft day
though.  Who Miami drafts is a big factor for the Falcon's decision.
Until then, we'll just keep on speculating, but Jerry Jones is being
really sneaky with everything so far.  WE WILL NOT KNOW ANYTHING UNTIL
DRAFT DAY.

No boycott. I just have been busy. I will get back to you. Your mock and another mock are going to be posted this weekend.

By the way, the secret, is it good? I was just wandering if you were about to boycott me or something. Does it have anything to do with mock drafts? Speaking of, have you looked at mine today? If the Boys sign these contracts I will have to overhaul it again. The salary cap makes things hard to speculate.

I would like to apologize for my being like a bad politician on the whole D Mac issue, but as much as I would like to have him, It just makes me sick to think what it might cost us at this point. I hope no players on the starting roster are included in the trade. It's too much of a risk. I really also hope that Jerry does work out a good trade with Atlanta, but I just can't see them (Atlanta) passing up a QB. Maybe they would settle for Henne in the second round. He might be O.K.  He's gotta be better than Joey Harrington right? This trade would cost us players though and I just hope that none of them are on the starting roster. They wouldn't want Barber though since they just signed Turner. That is good. This offense should be kick ass next year as long as everybody stays healthy. The secondary is what bothers me. I hope DeAngelo Hall is in the trade. I think he is a better cover than Pacman. They are both punks though. However I felt the same way about T.O.   What do you think would be better, Nate Jones coming back or drafting a second round CB? I personally think Nate is worthless. I hope he does go to Miami.  AND LANDRY HAT, when you get ready to go to a game, let me know. Just E-Mail me, and I'll give you some info. Wait until the schedule comes out though.

Ya that spitting incident pissed him off pretty good just like it would with anybody else...and as much as I want Dallas to keep their first rd picks the way they r I just got that feeling its not happening and DMAC will be a cowboy...DMAC and MB3 would be a hell of a backfield tho...along with that if we get a Deangelo Hall we've covered some of the areas of need...then we can go after devin thomas or manningham in the 2nd

On NFL.com on the main page the video called No Long Shot about Jake Long and other players. The interview is with Adam Schefter and he talks on how their might be more talk about DeAngelo hall trade. He also said two teams have started up talks with Alanta Falcons about a trade and one was very interested. If I were to think of the two teams could it be Dallas and New England. Who knows I just dont know how DeAngelo would like playing with T.O. after he spit in his face.

Fort Worth, Texas. Arlington isnt to far for me either alot better that driving to Irvin and then the traffic that comes with it trying to get there and back I hate 820.

Steam, the ticker prices JJ is asking is sad and very disappointing. All NFL teams tickets prices are a joke. It's sad. I plan to go to a game this coming season. Keep me in mind. I don't give a shit where I sit. I have a Dallas Cowboys credit card and I think I am about 1000 away from getting 2 free tickets. I will have to get airfare and hotel. Worth it to me. Cannot wait.

Sounds like not too many Cowboys fans here from the Dallas metro area.  Love4DaStar, you can get on the waiting list to buy season tickets to the new stadium coming to my hometown of Arlington in 2009 for $100 per seat. The prices for club seats though carry a minimum $16,ooo per seat PSL agreement, plus $34oo per seat, per season. I am a current season ticket holder, and waiting for the prices on the upper level seating (general admission) prices to be made public so I know where to sit, and how many to buy. They will be expensive though too I expect. The reason I bring this up, is it will be the driving factor for Jerry to do something big to push ticket sales. Darren McFadden. Like it or not, will be a Cowboy if Jerry has anything to do with it.

a couple of things could happen and i may not agree with them but one is for sure....MBIII cant go anywhere.

Whatever happens it exciting to know we need a RB in the draft and there is alot of good ones later in the draft. It will be great to see someone else besides Julius Jones for once.

Everyone who does not like the idea of trading up for D-Mac needs to be more worried about how much talk is starting to come up about the Cowboys looking that direction. Now you have to worry about how many teams will use D-Mac to make Jerry trade higher than he has to. Who cares if we get him he will be a Dallas Cowboy just like the rest of the team and we will back him up for that. Just like T.O. and just like how we put up with Julius Jones for so damn long but he was a Cowboy.

Yall ever notice the Skins love signing our old payers?  Dallas.....not so much.

Hey Tupip your sorry ass team tried to sign and got rejected by DJ Hackett...How does it feel to be rejected by a #3 WR??

As opposed to The Landry "I'm wrong more than I am right" Hat.  Oh and Octopus, I hate those Cowgirls fans the most. They're really a bunch of jerks. *duck* :)

Cant wait...I dont think u can get season tickets right now...maybe 2010 if anybody has confirmation about that

Jacksonville, FL but movin to Dallas in about a half a yr

My dad is a giants fan so they r a close second...u know i heard about the giants for a while after they won the whole thing lol

Im with you Octopus...Cant stand the Deadskins. Hey where is everyone at???? I live in Silver Spring MD

Redskins, giants and eagles.....but the forskins most cuz I live in the DC area.

Just a little side note but its just another reason y i hate eagle fans so damn much...If u go on yardbarker just to kind of browse around all u see is lame rumors about the eagles and who they supposedly will pick up or trade...just shows how desperate those people are just for one ring...they'll make anything up and even when an article has nothing to do with dallas someone manages to bash dallas...I always circle two games a yr tht I want Dallas to win more than any and thats against philly twice...I was just curious to see which divisional rivals u guys hate the most cause u guys know now where I stand

nine, the only problem is you wont get the same value in return.  i know its only 6 spots, but there is a lot of value from 22 to 28.

oops i meant the 28th pick haha

Hey david I would that but with the 22nd pick. It would be a replay of last year's draft. just so you all know these are the cowboys draft picks this year...# 22, # 28, # 60, # 93, # 124, # 158, # 189, # 220

Boys fans,Ill be money that we trade that #22 pick for someones 1st round next year and their 2nd and 3rd round this year.

Im a big time michigan fan so I saw alot of him since he was a freshman and yeah mannigham would be a must have if he is still available in the 2nd rd. The combine doesnt always tell the whole story.

I would rather have rogers-cromartie  over brandon flowers also but I dont see him slipping that far...Im actually a big manningham fan but after the combine his stock dropped but if he is available in the sec rd I think that would be a good pick-up.  I watched him at Michigan and he was a definite playmaker

Hey Love4dastar...thats what I been saying all along...keep the picks except I would like to see rogers-cromartie with the 22nd pick and felix jones with the 28th pick. and picking up devin thomas or mario maningham in the 2nd round would be awesome. I highly doubt pacman will play this year but even if he was the cowboys should stay away from him.

Ya Tom Brady on the cover of Madden would work for me too lol...As far as the draft goes I would love to see them just keep their picks as is...If Rashard Mendenhall or Felix Jones are available I would take one of them along with Brandon Flowers at the other first pick if we dont end up with pacman...Devin Thomas in the second rd would be awesome if available

As long as its not Romo.  I've heard rumors that its going to be Eli Manning on the cover.  What a joke, but its true.

Nate Jones will surely end up in miami (or the south florida Cowboys) The more I think about it the more It seems the Cowboys will end up trading for Mcfadden. I think Jerrah doesnt want "Randy Moss regret". I hope he doesnt though because we would be missing out on 1st RD CB talent and we can still get a good RB since the draft is pretty deep with RB's and the secondary needs help. On a side note I nominate Tom Brady for the Madden 2009 cover.

Nate Jones is meeting with the Dolphins today.  Another DB to Miami?

The Truth, thanks. I think a larger post that includes all the evidence is coming.

Good catch with the theory of Jerry Jones plotting this out since last season Landry Hat.  I have been thinking the same thing, but I'm sure he had in mind that Cleveland would have sucked last year and there would be no trading up.  We would have been there already in the 4-6 range.  But, of course they have a breakout year and 4-6 changed into pick # 22 and spoiled all of Jerry's original plans.  If the "long term deal" plans are true, thats EXACTLY what he's doing is freeing up cap space.  I don't know if thats specifically for McFadden, but that makes it more likely.  That would make DeAngelo Hall and the price tag that comes with him possible again, and then the whole "deal with Falcons" theory comes back into play, therefore landing McFadden.  Like I said in a previous post, Jerry Jones cannot mess up this situation.  He wants him really bad but knows that he can't sell the farm to get him.  If he stays true to that, then that means he will only acquire McFadden if there is a free agent signing addressing CB issues.  If that doesn't happen, then just stick with the current draft picks, and there will be no "wow factor" but it will fit our team's needs perfectly.  Nothing to sweat.  We cannot lose this offseason !!!

I hate to say but the Tuna left this team in much better shape than when he first took over. I agree with you cards...cant have Mcfadden and chances are the raiders will get him, but something tells me Jerrah will make a run for him. I much rather pick up a CB and a RB in the first round. This coming draft is loaded with RB's so I dont see the point in trading 2 first Rd picks for D-Mac. The secondary should be priority 1 right now.

This Darren McFadden stuff will just NOT go away.  You can't have both McFadden and Barber in the same backfield.  One of the two will get disgruntled. Barber has bidded his time behind Julius Jones and now deserves to be the TRUE #1 back.  If the Cowboys were to move up and grab McFadden, it would be as a feature back, not a backup to Barber.  This is a very simple case of 'A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.'  Stay away from McFadden and grab a CB or 2 in the first round.
