Dallas Cowboys backup safety and special teams guru Keith Davis is in Miami and back-stabber Bill Parcells.
Can Brian at Phin Phanatic chime in here and tell us what the scoop is? Personally, losing Davis has more effect on the special teams. Davis, rightly so, wants more playing time on defense. He’d likely get it in Miami.
If this happens, the Cowboys secondary depletes further. We’ve already lost a corner, and if Davis hits the road, we really don’t have much experience for backup safety.
Has the safety position become more of a priority in this upcoming draft than wide receiver?

I dont think our saftey is the biggest problem its our special teams. As I can recall at the begining of the season our special teams were not so great when Davis was out. As for saftey I dont know Im probaly stupid for saying this but I still think Roy has some potential left in him. Its like Parcells screwed him up, I mean when he first came to dallas he was a monster people did not like to be in his path. Then Parcells comes and changes him up now you have him thinking too much and no reaction. I hope having Dave Campo back helps him become the old Roy. I just dont see Davis being better a saftey than he is at special teams I would hate to see him leave, but I dont see Dallas letting him have a starting job at saftey.
I thought safety was maybe our biggest weakness for a while now. We need Roy to step it up or someone new to put him on the bench………sorry Roy.
