Pac Man Speculation Grows

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is well aware of Pac Man’s wishes. But it doesn’t mean the troubled and suspended cornerback will become a Cowboy.

In my own humble opinion, Pac Man Jones is a loser. That doesn’t mean he cannot turn his life around. Although he still is visiting the strip clubs, and getting accused of breaking the rules, somehow his name has become a hot topic in the NFL rumor mill.

He hasn’t even been reinstated to the NFL. Until then, it’s worthless to even think he’ll go anywhere but the strip clubs. I doubt Pac Man will be reinstated this year. He hasn’t shown a glimpse of change in his life, and he hasn’t played in a football game in well over a year. There’s no guarantee the former West Virginia college player will even be able to compete at the same level. I doubt he’s working out at the gym on a regular basis and chasing down the deep passes in practices. What he is doing is rapping with the thugs and smoking dope.

Mickey Spagnola spouts off today  about all the rumors surrounding the Cowboys and Jerry Jones. Here is how he starts it:

Here is the best part of free agency being one-week-old, and maybe the biggest relief: We have answers. You have answers. Concrete ones. And all the mash potatoes seasoned with rumors, irresponsible blogs and speculation, didn’t stick, hardly a one of them, all simply sliding off the wall.

Irresponsible blogs and speculation? I am not sure what led Spagnola to take a pot shot at all of us, but I feel inclined to give Mickey a lesson in Blogging 101.

Mickey, bloggers are not trying to be journalists. Bloggers engage readers in a far different way than you and newspapers. Bloggers are charged with discussing everything and anything under the sun. For this blog, we discuss everything and anything under the Dallas Cowboys. If I hear of a rumor, we’ll discuss it. We’ll debate if such a rumor would be a good idea. Never has this site turned a rumor into truth. However, if we look back on a real newspaper journalist who reported that Marion Barber was to get just a 1st round tender, you gotta question you “responsible” guys, too.

Point is, there is absolutely NOTHING irresponsible about discussing a rumor, even if such rumor is created by some idiotic peon with a keyboard. I never saw one blogger say the Cowboys were going to sign Asante Samuel, Randy Moss, Javon Walker or Donte Stallworth. I did see a lot of blogs discuss the possibilities. This was one of those blogs.

Yet, we’re irresponsible?  But angry Spangnola does finally make some good points. The Cowboys may not have had a frenzy in free agency, but they sure did shore up the team for the future with the current players on the team. Tony Romo, Patrick Crayton, Jay Ratliff,  L.P. Ladouceur, Ken Hamlin, Marion Barber, Chris Canty, Flo Adams and Zach Thomas all appear to be solid Cowboys for at least one more year.

That one more year may be all we need to win a record sixth Super Bowl.

SPAZnola   you are so boring... almost all the bloggers i have encountered on this site know more than you, not to mention my boy LANDRY.!!!!...SPAZ,  WHY DONT YOU GO WRITE FOR THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, SO YOU CAN PUT EVERYONE TO SLEEP

landry,           spagnola is a douche, i am so tired of reading his crap, he is never right, and i honestly dont think he knows what is best for this team...his email responses are generic and not well thought out...YO DOUBLE J, LANCE WANTS A JOB BROTHER!!!

the gayskins r sooooo lame that they dont even have a blog thats why the redskins guy has to come over here..i live in northern VA but im a cowboys fan and damn proud of it

Redskinsguy, can plant tulips on my ?&@! hahhahaa jk!

Good, little tulip.

I'm a tulip? I don't think I've ever been called a tulip before.   I'm...well I'm speechless.

He's just mad because I have more hits than he does.

Mickey talks about rumors getting spread when almost all he comments in Mick's Mail were about Pacman Jones atleast all of Fridays.

Has pacman been reinstated yet?? I dont think it would be wise to trade for him if he hasnt even been reinstated yet. The titans will probably release him anyway so if jerrah really wants him then he should go after him in free agency but thats only IF he gets to come back.

redskingirl, ya, they are almost as fun as your blogs to look and laugh at.....your such a tulipjust like i predicted PAC MAN JONES......we can get him real cheap from tenesse, and we need to sign him to a tank johnson -esque contract he will be worth it, look Im sure he will screw up again, but if it doesnt cost us anything right now(cap wise) do it do it.....if you havent noticed we cant cover anyone.....at his top potential he is as good as t-new, if not better....boom:)

"That one more year may be all we need to win a record sixth Super Bowl. " Uh huh. And Terry Glenn was going to catch two touchdowns in the superbowl victory against the Patriots, right? I love collecting LandryHat predictions.  They're always so much fun to look back on and laugh at.

Steamroller, I guess. It's not too much of a risk to give Pac Man a chance. But I just don't like the thug. I really don't want to have a tattoo on my arm that is associated with Pac Man freaking Jones, and if he becomes a Cowboys, it is.

Thanks Justin. I agree. I think a lot of times we hammer out what ends up being best for the Cowboys. Discussing rumors is harmless. Calling blogs irresponsible for doing it is stupid and trivial.

I agree that Pacman Jones is not a top choice for any team as far as his past goes. Who knows what he doing now as far as staying in good shape and staying in the gym and such, but I wouldn't be pissed if Jerry picked him up for a low budget, get your crap together and produce or your gone deal like he gave Tank.

I did see a lot of blogs discuss the possibilities. This was one of those blogs. Discussing the POSSIBILITIES is exactly why I come here and the not newspaper website. I'd rather have articles about all sorts of routes Jerry could take and how, but  not 3 day old checked and re-checked information about Bill Parcells vs the Cowboys information
