Cornerback, Wide Out Pool Drying Up…What Will The Cowboys Do?

by Cowboys

Two cornerbacks have been signed in the past two days: Asante Samuel heads to rival Philadelphia Eagles and Drayton Florence signs with the Jaguars.

Donte Stallworth signed with the Cleveland Browns, a team looking like a force to be reckoned with this coming season. The Vikings are looking to sign Bernard Berrian. The Jags signed wide receiver Jerry Porter. Wide out Isaac Bruce is a 49er now.

NFL.com also reports that Shaun Alexander, Warrick Dunn, DeShaun Foster, Travis Henry, Rudi Johnson, LaMont Jordan and Edgerrin James all could be released within a few months.  Of those, Dunn would be a good back to have paired with Marion Barber. Rumors are that the Cowboys are looking at Tatum Bell in Detroit, who is in his fourth season with the Lions. Bell hasn’t done much in the NFL and he may be a risk pick. I think Dunn, if released, could run the ball well with the Cowboys offensive line blocking for him.

But the free agency pool of good players is quickly drying up. If Dallas doesn’t make a move soon, there will be plenty of speculation that someone is going to be traded on or near draft day.

Here is a good site to track free agent signings.

Wow thats quite a theory there.  Among the many problems i see the first one is why would we trade for Dunn when he has been released already...

How about trading LB Adeloye and DE Spears and pick #28 to ATL for CB Hall and RB Dunn.  Trade our #22 for MIA's #32 their 3rd rounder #64.  This gives us picks #32,  #59, # 64, #92 in 1st 3 rounds. Then draft 32-Flowers-CB-Vir Tech,  59-Johnson-RB-ECU, 64-Caldwell-WR-Flor, 92-Williams-CB-SoFlor Then NT Bryant from Tex A&M in 4th and BPA in later rounds

REDSKINGIRL ( AND I TAKE FULL CREDIT FOR GIVING YOU THAT NAME ON THIS SITE)     YOU SHOULD GO HIDE BRO!!!   I LET YOU KNOW WHEN TO COME OUT!!

we really don't need glenn if one of these young guys steps up. micky spagnola the dallas cowboys sports beat writer says watch out for stanback.....he loves this kid. says he reminds him of a young hines ward. wow i hope so.... that could be the answer. you just never know. everybody says speculation don't pay the bills, but talent is there for dallas with these young guys. they have gotten seasoned. 2 playoff losses for hurd, austin, crayton, and a whole season under his belt watchin owens fly around has to wonders for stanback as well

Glenn is done.  You're not going to get any value out of him. His knees are held together with shoe-string and crazy glue.  As for the trade rumors....I think I'm going to go hide. *whimper*

i say it goes down!!!!! we maybe able to thank our good friend deion sanders for this thing....jerry ain't given barber to that fatassed parcells....i can guarntee that....just look at how upset all the cowboy fans are whenever they hear of this shit. jerry hears too, and he wants us guys to come to his new stadium and cheer for one of the most favorite cowboys; BARBER... he can't have it if barber is in miami.....and mcfadden tearin up the new turf????oh yeah baby.... it'll happen

I HAVE THE BIGGEST CHUBBY from this rumour its the perfect solution. Mcfadden and Barber is not only Rediculous can you imagine Terrence Newman and DeAngelo Hall as our corners and Henry in the slot cuse of his lack of speed. WOW

GOOD JOB DAVEDALLASFAN...i LIKE IT      OH YEAH AND TO COMMENT ON THE FREE AGENT NAMES IN THIS ARTICLE.......SAVE OUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

then add depth with the rest of the draft....o-line, another d-end and a corner.....well there ya all go, problems solved

and....glen ain't done yet, you got a lot of money already tied up in him, and chances are he'll only go one more year.....well use him wisely and create some miss matches with him and he'll get open....with a lineup like that you can't double cover anybody

trade both 1st rnders, spears and carpenter to atlanta for the #3 overall pick and deangello hall. then draft mcfadden. use mcfadden in the slot position as new orleans us reggie bush as a rookie. you still have barber as the starting back, you have witten, you have owens, you have crayton, or one of the young guys could step up, hang on with this isaiah stanback yet, and last but not least you have mcfad in the slot with a safety or linebacker covering him in the open field.....that gives romo more choices then he had at the miss america contest
