Flo Signs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In what has been a very pleasant day in Dallas Cowboys land, we now get word from Nick Eatman that offensive tackle Flozell Adams has signed a six-year deal with the team. This ensures Adams will retire as a Cowboy.

This news comes after the Cowboys decided to give Marion Barber a high tender of $2.8 million which means any team that wants him will have to cough up 1st and 3rd round picks. This is some insurance that Barber will remain a Cowboy for at least another year.

I am very surprised that Adams is signed. As I blogged earlier, I figured he was gone because the Cowboys organization said they were going to let him test free agency. The official site reported Adams would test free agency.

When it comes down to it, I am glad he is here to stay. Despite his penalties, he’s a force on the front line. He’s a Pro Bowler and he adds consistency.

Thanks to David for posting this news in the comment section first. Kudos to you!

The tender to Barber and signing of Adams complicates the Darren McFadden rumors though. Both players are likely to remain in Dallas. Rumors swirled that Barber was going to be part of a packaged deal to Miami for the first pick. Not sure that clicks anymore with reality.

Dallas could still trade its two first-round picks and Marcus Spears or Bobby Carpenter, for a top pick. The McFadden bandwagon is growing in popularity. I had an argument with a co-worker today who claims to be a Cowboys fan. He’d sell the franchise to get McFadden, which I think it outrageous. My argument that Barber is a proven running back in the NFL fell on deaf ears with him because “Barber hasn’t rushed for 1,000 yards and he is a back up.”

He’s the only back-up running back in the NFL to make it to the Pro Bowl. Every one of us knew he was the starter at heart, and that it was a poor coaching decision to keep trying Julius Jones, who was ineffective all year.

Plain and simple Walker is not worth shortning our cap room.

yes,  you are right about about cutting walker, i sure bolen did the ax dropping here. walker has been a problem child since he's been in the league. he was for GB, and now DEN, chances are that could follow him to his next destination. i know what your all saying now, well dallas signed owens and that turned out ok? well owens has PRODUCED at a CONSISTANT level. i do beleive that the word consistantcy has been used alot with walker, and not in a good sence. glenn will never be the same after this injury, and maybe a spot starter from here on out. no way he's an everydown go. the pounding on the knee will be too much. sure walker is 5 years younger, but that injury is said to be very painful under continual physical stress, at any age. so? is he worth it? to shanahan and bowlen and the money they had no! to some one else that can spot start him for a incentive contract? maybe? ijust thought that it was a wise move on DEN to let him go. some one else takes a chance on him? not a BAD move but yes i think too risky for dallas. i think we ride these young guys we got

I was upset when Gibbs retired..........I really liked his timeout calling skills.

I'm just saying that just because Shanahan cuts walker, it doesn't mean that Walker isn't worth picking up.  He's certainly an injury risk, but Shanahan ruined the Broncos playoff chances two years ago by benching their veteran qb and going with the rookie.  He's made some big mistakes recently.  That doesn't mean he's a bad coach; it means that we can't assume his opinion isn't the final word on Javon Walker. That's all.

redskins guy, i davedallasfan, said that shanahan is one of the shrewdist coaches in the nfl. he may not have had a great run the last few years, but history always repeats itself, and he's got some hardware on a shelf somewhere to prove he did it once, making him capable of it again. your skins tried it with gibbs, right? well i think the games different now, and gibbs had other business on his mind, so he could'nt give it his all. hey i respect success at any level. i do with shannahan, and i've always respected gibbs. so when i say that shannahan is shrewd, i mean he's smart enough to know when to get rid of a problem like walker. he now could care less who signs him. he believes he has a simiilar injury to that of terry glenn. so i hope that snyder wastes the money again and you guys sign him, then we'll see who's shrewd.

I Smell Haterade Skinsguy

Just make sure TO doesn't spit in Hall's face again.  Oh, and whoever said Shanahan is one of the shrewdest coaches in the league is about ten years out of touch.  Shanahan used to be magic but the last several years have not been good for him.

Amen like i said in the other blog if we do this Atlanta trade and somehow Mcfadden gets take before out #3 pick we still have addressed our biggest need with an elite Corner in Hall and with the 3rd pick we can grab the next best WR or RB in the draft we cant loose. Wouldnt you rather have Hall over any of these umproven corners and a #3 pick or a 22 and 28 pick with no garuntees at all?

exactly, it's all about the corner, we got some good young boys we've been hearin about for awhile. they should be seasoned by now and sooner than later in this nfl you gotta start playin the guys your payin. so lets get this corner situation nailed. draft- freeagent- or trade we need a corner

Good point Honestly from doin my research the last couple hours. Hurd or Stanback should be able to get the job done for us, remeber we dont need a number one wide reciever what we need is a Corner over a top reciver i guess i fell into the hype and got excited but hell if this deal with atlanta goes through and we do get mcfadden, trust me Owens, Witten and Crayton will be enough. Im putting my money on Hurd and Stanback to step up and yall should to.

oh and by the way, forget about this walker shit right now guys, please for pete's sake....if there was a chance of him playin healthy, denver would not let him go. shannahan is one of the shrewdist coaches in the league. if a team cuts a guy, there's always a reason why, right? or they'd keep him....he needs the same surgery that glenn needs, so wee don't need him. just remember denver needs wrs just as much if not more than us, so why let such a great guy like walker LIMP away....think about it

i agree, roy has been merely a boy lately, but if you look at the bare bones of his contract you can't cut him, cause it's to big of a hit pure on the cap, and ofcorse the way he's played makes it a little difficult to trade him with that contract hangin around his neck....so, again, i think mister jones is one step ahead of us....did yall see who he hired as a db coach>>>>your favorite and mine, and most importantly roy williams'>>>>DAVE CAMPO....might see a different roy next year hang on and stay tuned

TO JERRY JONES,  MAKE IT HAPPEN! MAKE IT HAPPEN! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!  WITH OUR CORNERS HALL NEWMAN, HENRY IN THE SLOT......THTAS WHAT I WANT JERRY.....PS: TRADE ROY WILLIAMS, I DONT WANT TO HEAR EXCUSES FOR HIM ANYMORE.

I HAVE THE BIGGEST CHUBBY from this rumour its the perfect solution. Mcfadden and Barber is not only Rediculous can you imagine Terrence Newman and DeAngelo Hall as our corners and Henry in the slot cuse of his lack of speed. WOW

Lance you bring up a good point i have been dying to see what Stanback can do but he to is also injury prone lol according to his only season so well see i have high hopes. I guess i agree on your point on the wide Recievers in free agency. Listen to this rumour fellas The cowboys are trying to work out a deal with atlanta. Dallas will trade  carpenter and Spears for deangelo hall and then trade our two 1st round picks  for atlantas number 3 pick i dont know about you fellas but that would be pretty damn sweet especially since spears was flying under the radar and wev aquired Thomas so carpenter leaving wouldnt hurt us. Mcfadden fans if this true this be our Jerry Jones tryin to get Mcfadden with Barber...Yea Just imagine...I just got a chubby

flyeaglesfly....why are u still here, didnt i knock you out earlier....go back to your trailer......  now for serious business...tdcowboys, whats up bro---to ans your question, we dont want any of these recievers in free agency   they are all question marks except for moss, and we are gonna give a huge opportunity to stanback next year to see what he has, we are better off draftin one, i still say draft 2 corners with those two first round picks, unless you can trade for Roy Williams (det) with one of them( and i dont see that)....we need secondary help bad....for all of you that want javon walker so bad...BE CAREFUL HE IS INJURY PRONE, AND A HORRIBLE LOCKER ROOM GUY...

guys, think about it....i think jerry might be done with freeagency for the time being.....this fisher thing in tenn. is real guys, he said it in the press and laughed about it. he said a first and third he would do for barber, and they got some money to spend. so---i think jerry has to see what happens now and how much more it'll take to get barber nailed down. they may only nail him to a one year deal to see if he can carry the load as a fulltime starter and then work a long term out next year???? i think jerry is caught here and has to stay put. we also have 2 FIRST rnd picks that won't be cheap. we have almost 4mill to work with and that won't cut it as it stands now. some one will again have to be traded or released to clear cap room!!!! this is the nature of the beast, boys. you can't spend like snyder and not have it bite you in the ass sooner than later.....sounds like owens will rework and extend his contract to be more cap friendly and spears and carpenter are still being tossed around......time will tell......but i still think the boys are done for now

Alan i dont think so man cuse washingtons got no one else besides smoot, rogers is gonna have to recover most of this year so im sayin No for springs to leave for anyteam.

Alan, the Washingtonpost insider said yesterday that Shawn Springs is one of several people who "remain prime candidates for new deals should a need arise" [for more cap space to be made] so it certainly sounds like we're not letting him go right now.  Not that it can't happen but I thought I'd point it out.  Also, according to ESPN the entire NFC East is interested in Javon Walker, though he's apparently working out with McNabb right now as they're good buddies.

Oooh, I suck in more ways than one...implying that I am, also, gay.  How many brain cells did Wayne have to scratch together to come up with that one?  You're really reaching up to new heights of creativity there Wayne.  Keep trying and someday, with patience and hard work, you might actually say something clever.  I'm not holding my breath or anything, but hey it could happen.

Does anybody think there's a chance that Shawn Springs could be headed to Dallas?

Yup it would be nice Owens is a deep threat but crayton is more of a slot reciver with witten so it would be crucial to have the speed and youth of walker for another deep threat. And if that dont work we all know just toss it to barber for some excitment. Knee injury concerns everyone im sure but if Walker is healthy we could be in for a hell of a season. But i wont get too excited yet

I know you suck redskins gurl in more way than one . Slam !

Can you imagine?  Walker, Crayton & T.O. in Dallas? Do you think they'll release Glenn? He says he wants to stay and play.

He would just be another Julius Jones. Maybe even worse with him being afraid to take a hit

Yea Dallas is very intrested in Walker and on NFL.com Dallas is showing intrest in Tatum Bell what yall think of that. He could be a decent backup with the speed we need.

Ive heard the Walker talks are starting to heat up in Dallas

Walker would be a nice pickup if JJ can get under it.

Yea i figured that but i didnt know for sure what we had its just frusterating watching all the talent start to slip away into contracts. SanFran is goin nuts in Free Agency man theyv been buliding and continue to do so.

TDCowboys, JJ is still trying to clear some cap space so that he can sign some free agent receivers. I think we still got about 3Mil left.

Wow this section of the blog should go in the blog hall of fame, its was pretty intense and in the end no one looked up someones address and tryed to kill them in thier sleep kudos to everyone, this is how it should be. RedskinsGuy thanks for the kudos and flyeaglesflyi respect you comin back and tryn to straight things out you can have some of my kudos..But it still wont help your eagles win any games.  New Debate topic..Why arnt we goin after any Wide Recivers in Free Agency is the Draft that Promising?

Hey Wayne, did you hear that sound that went waaay over your head?  That was the point everyone was making.  It's nice to see you making an effort at least.  This time I'm not gay...I suck! It's a start at least.  flyeaglesfly, I think you have a typo in your last post.  It's not spelled "l-a-n-c-e" it's spelled "w-a-y-n-e"Off to go hang with crossdressing animal lovers. Go Hogettes go!

lance ur an idiot

yo landry i apologize for the language as well, im sure i am one of the biggest foulmouths on this site....i will def tone it down, Redskin girl....your not a bad dude, you just like to hang with those fat hogs and cross dress,  but i can tell you are a real fan, so i respect that even though i hate your team from the bottom of my soul......Flyeaglesfly......every bad word i said about you before, and every inch of bad language i used ,still stands, you know nothing about football, and get off this site Landry, my apologies once again

Dear Redskins Gurl , I know your upset because you have no salary cap and your biggest deal of the day was signing a 37 year old career backup and your owner still looks like bigboy but dont take it out on us because ...... you really suck.

Im sorry eagles but you guys still don't have any wide receivers last I looked . Wow your replaceing Lito Sheppard With Samuels . Im glad Lito Shepard is the one threat you have against the cowboys and I hear the eagles are trading him . Good job reid about as good of a job as you are as a father. muahahahahha

hey landry hat i just wanted to come back and like a man apologize about the vulger language no disrespect even though i hate the cowboys i no ur site is good for yall fans so i wanted to be a man n apologize for tha language

Oh, and I don't mean to imply that EVERYONE is like that. TDCowboys in particular has shamed me for pointing out that I was picking a fight and he maintained a rational discourse and brought other people into the discussion despite my flame-provoking ways. Kudos to him and everyone else like him!  More debate!  Less Filling!

I have to say Landry, when I come to a site like this as a fan of the Redskins, I expect some abuse and I don't let it bother me.  Gee, someone else called me Redskins Girl, how clever of them.  But I think it also reflects on the quality of your fan base that you have so many people willing to degenerate to abusive language and unnecessarily caustic personal attacks.  I may have picked on some people once in a while but it was mostly in good fun and I at least tried to be reasonalby silly about it.  But really, how many times do we have to call someone a fag?  What, are all Cowboys fans overcompensating for their secret homosexual urges?  And I would ask that if you ARE going to insult someone (especially me), at least try to be a little clever about it.  "UR A FAG is REDSKINS GIRL! HUR HUR HUR!!!"  really says a lot more about the poster than it does about me.  Go ahead and insult me, but at least make it funny. That's all I ask.  Oh, and Lance is gay.  (Just kidding Lance.  We all know you're bi-curious).

haha thats a good point my only defense to tht is how well Barber played when he started against the FRESH GIANTS defense.

TD Cowboys, if you didn't see my post in the other column, I do concede that I was overly harsh in my criticism of Barber.  He's decent and he'll have a chance to shine now that he's the starter.  I do think there's a questionmark behind him because he's been backup for so long.  His statistics look good but when you're getting most of your carries in the 4th quarter when the defense is already tired and losing (as I believe was the case in a lot of games), it might very well skew his yards per carry.  So it'll be interesting to see how he performs this year. Assuming he stays with the Cowboys.  I should find a way to differentiate between my serious analysis and my Redskins-centric fandom mocking tirades.  Maybe I'll come up with a different name and switch between the two so you can tell the difference. :)

I knew that was gonna happen landryhat haha i had to delete like half my sentences before i posted them cuse i was getting pissed. WestCoastSkins i see what you sain  im not tryn to bash Betts i just need to see more out of him to agree man.  MY best frends a skins fan so i watch all the games if it doesnt conflict with Dallas and i just havnt seen anything from betts besides bein a good backup.

Guys, I love the itensity and all, but please try and tone down the bad language. WOrds such as pussy, fuck, fag, are a bit harsh and derogatory for some people to read. I don't want to scare anyone off with that language regularly. Please? I know I get mad and throw a bull shit or damn or whatever out there, but let's try and argue and fight this out with some words that we all can tolerate. I had a few complaints sent to me privately today. They said they won't be coming back to the site, and both were Cowboys fans. We need them back.
Thanks guys

No he is definitely no Barber and Barber deserved that Pro Bowl bid, but you can see what Im saying about the difference level between the two

Basically bottom line is if your saying that Betts is just as good as Barber im scared to see what you have to say about Portis.

But Barber was never a starter. He started agasint the giants and Betts had 34 more carries as a starter than Barber did as a backup. Barber is alot more talented. We all know He can truck people but hes prolly one of the shiftiest RBs when it comes to finding a hole to run through. I see wht ur sayin but but Betts just aint no Barber or else he would of gone to the Pro Bowl.

all you skins and eagles fans come on here and get smoked!!!!!  just like your teams.

and david if you want to compare avg ypc between barber and betts than you would have to take betts' 2006 totals when he was given a staring role more similar to what barber has in which he had a 4.7 ypc vs Barber 4.8. To me there not much of a difference in those numbers

Im not arguing that Betts is better than Barber. All im saying is the talent gap between the two of them is not as great as yall are making it to be.
