I don’t have a link, but this has been confirmed that Tennessee Titans Head Coach Jeff Fischer told a news station that if the Dallas Cowboys don’t sign Marion Barber and give him the restricted free agent tender, he would give up a 1st and 3rd round picks for the Barbarian running back.

During an interview with a local TV station Coach Fisher spoke on many topics one being the running back. He spoke about possible backs they would draft but went on to say that if he had a chance to sign Marion Barber of the Dallas Cowboys he would. He said that Marion is a restricted free agent this year and since Dallas has yet to come to an agreement with him yet he believes that Dallas will put a 1st and 3rd round tender on him. Jeff went on to say that in his eyes it would be well worth the 1st and 3rd round picks. He says when drafting you have a fifty fifty shot your player will make the team and the odds that player will make a pro bowl team is even more unlikely, So if you have a chance to pick up a pro bowl back for a first and third then you take it. “I hope they do give him the tender. If they do the good news is they will have two more picks this year,” Coach Fisher said as he laughed.
So, the question is still out there: Why haven’t the Dallas Cowboys signed Marion Barber to a long-term deal? WHY!? Is it because Jerry Jones wants Darren McFadden so bad that he is willing to screw the entire draft up and lose Barber to get the unproven running back? The Dallas Cowboys most-pressing need is not in the backfield. It’s in the secondary.
If the Cowboys don’t sign a top-tier free agent corner or use one of those first-round picks for a freshsman corner, I am going to go berserk. I will physically throw things.

I’m told you need to make sure you score tickets ahead of time. Dave can tell you his horror story about the time he tried to get into the draft. If you go, be sure to shout some sort of bellowing curse at Gehenna or Redskins Guy so I know you’re there when Jones totally ruins your draft.
landryhat i have no idea how to live blog, i also dont know what that even means, im not great with computers….i know its really hard to get into the draft, a friend of mine went last year…basically i plan to go insanely early and start waiting around at like 430am… they start giving tickets to the waiters i think sometime in the morning maybe 7? and then you are allowed to return once you get your tickets and wait in line to get in at 10…. i know its tough to get into but i mean its worth it, i also live in jersey 20 minutes from the city so its not that much for me to do….
I can’t believe i am saying this, but i agree with Redskin Guy (PS thanks for the info on the other sites, iggles, riggo’s rag, and giants), why wait to sign Barber? My belief is this…Dallas has the 22nd & 28th pick…Titans i think have 26th…Jerry (DA Jones) can package the 22, 26, and both 3rd rounders and move up to take DMac…It also leaves him one more 1st round pick…I believe he is hoping someone further up the draft will take Barber so he will be a little closer to the top…I also agree with Jeff Fisher, we have a proven commodity, DMac will be the next Reggie Bush, he sells tickets, but sucks at RB…Redskin Guy if you are at the draft – scream out Jerry sucks for me, because if they don’t sign Barber, I won’t be watching.
Guys your killing me. Barber isnt going anywhere. Redskinsguy dosent know squat. He will be signed long term by the draft and they will find another RB to compliment him and have a great 2 back system. As for the draft good luck. One day id love to go but I will be coaching my boys in baseball for a while.

The news has just come down the wire, but word coming from the Eagles
front office is that they will, in fact, be signing every single free
agent this off season. From Randy Moss to Muhsin Muhammed, Asante
Samuel to Zach Thomas. One Eagles official has been quoted, "Fuck it,
we’re going all out this year. And honestly, who’s going to stop us?"
On top of this unprecedented free agent bonanza, they will also be
making many block buster trades. They soon will have acquired the
rights to Larry Fitzgerald and if they play their cards right (no pun
intended) they may not have to give up much. On top of Fitz, the Eagles
will also be bringing in Roy Williams and Javon Walker for some
sandwiches and $5 respectively. And in an unheard of trade, they have
decided to trade with themselves to acquire Lito Sheppard. When we
asked the Eagles official of this rumor he responded, "Well, it would
be nice to get a guy like Lito. And if I know the Eagles, we probably
won’t have to give up much to get him."
Just remember, all of you scream "DAMN you Redskins Guy! You were right!" when you find out how much Jones is going to screw up this draft. Trust me on this. Feel free to add colorfull language to it if it makes you feel better.
Redskins guy, The only way Barber does not come back is if one of the top 5 teams in the draft sign him. Then I say nice knowing ya and we will take your 1st and third but it aint gonna happen.
Redskin Guy, Daniel Snyder has prefected screwing up drafts so I am confident that you can spot one coming a mile away. That being said, I am sure this is all wishfull thinking on your part. I know you would prefer NOT to have to face Barber two times a year, especially as the feature back. Cross your fingers if you must but don’t hold your breath!
Guy, what Marty said is SPOT ON. However, the funny thing (and this may actually help the jerkskins) is they have no cap money. They are negative 20 million. They cannot sign crapola. They cannot draft crapola. That’s Snyder management. Go out and get a ton of free agents and 90 percent of them blow chunks. You did well with Fletcher, but the rest have been FLOPS.
Actually we’ve had a lot of success in the draft. Our problem has been that we’ve been giving away the damn draft picks for free agents so we don’t have any actual picks to make during the draft. The picks we’ve actually made have all been pretty damn solid. As for the cap, read Dave’s article at Riggo’s Rag. http://riggosrag.com/2008/02/21/a-prison-without-walls/Remember what I said. I expect to hear some "CURSE YOU REDSKINS GUY!" bellows when you find out I’m right.
Also, not all our pick ups have been flops, though it’s definitely true that we’ve had our share of busts. Shawn Springs has been HUGE for us. Santanna Moss has been much better than Coles ever was. Even Brunell got us to the playoffs one year and set some records. And Smoot really picked up his game when he returned back to us last year. Yeah we’ve had some bad moves, but we’ve had some good ones too.
