Not our Roy Williams. Detroit’s Roy Williams. I am sure many of us wish it were our Roy.
The offer, as reported by some blogger on Yardbarker, is: the Eagles will give Detroit wide receiver Reggie Brown and a 4th round pick for Williams.
The Landry Hat says: That’s a disgusting offer quite frankly. If Detroit takes it, they will surely hold up to the label of one of the NFL’s crappiest franchises.
But this does pose some problems for the Cowboys. Many Cowboys fans love Roy Williams, the receiver. Dallas does need another receiver to replace an aging group. He certainly is a good receiver.
Does Dallas want to face this guy twice a year? Not really. The Cowboys, if they want Williams, need to counter the second round pick and Marcus Spears, and possibly even Bobby Carpenter, for the star wide out.
There’s another benefit to having Roy Williams. Certainly, Dallas can’t have two players on the same team. That means we have to trade the other Roy Williams, the safety. How grande that would be!
