They're old in all the wrong places and they held on to the guys who were a part of their Super Bowl run for way too long trying to recapture their glory. But it is ridiculous to say that they are a bad franchise. If for no other reason, they've won like half a dozen playoff games since the last time the Cowboys won one. Is this really how the Cowboys fans see franchises? They either suck or they're great? No rebuilding? No middle ground where you are good, but not good enough to make a run this year? You'd think a franchise like yours, who has won its trophies in two big bunches (the Staubach 70's and the Triplet's 90's) would have more patience for the idea that sometimes you make your run with your guys and then you have to rebuild. That said, if I were a young "genius" head coach like Garrett, I wouldn't take the Ravens job either. For the next three years, they'll be drafting to replace the likes of Ray Lewis and Jonathan Ogden and the owners will fire the coach that does this just when they're about to stop sucking. Garrett is smart. He knows if Phillips isn't out of Dallas by then, he take the Ravens job in three years when that happens.
