The Landry Hat Playoff Picks

Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks -31/2
The Redskins are riding a wave of success since the death of safety Sean Taylor. The running game is clicking, the passing game is gliding and the defense is strong. Backup Todd Collins is running this team, as mind boggling as that may sound. The Seahawks make the playoffs quietly. Once the most feared running game in the NFL has fizzled to an afterthought. But quarterback Matt Hasselback is having a great year. The Seahawks defense has 45 sacks, too, which is certainly going to cause problems for the Redskins. The wave hits a levee here today, folks. The Seahawks will ride the 12th man to victory this afternoon. Seahawks 35 Redskins 22.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers +3

This would have been a really great matchup if Steelers running back Willie Parker was playing. That will hurt the Steelers. The Jaguars have a quarterback who doesn’t make errors, and that’s important to have in the playoffs. In Pittsburgh, the Steelers will fight, but the Jags will get the upper hand in this battle. Jags 27 Steelers 21

New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3
I don’t even know how the Bucs made it this far. They’ve been the real surprise this year with a bunch of no names running the show there. The Giants, however, have a good defense. Really, this game will come down to errors. Can Eli Manning keep the ball out of the Bucs’ hands? Can he play perfectly throughout the playoffs? I think we all know that answer. But for this day, the Giants are likely to win this game. The defense will pressure Jeff Garcia (he only has 13 touchdowns) and punish Earnest Graham. Giants 31 Bucs 17

Tennesee Titans at San Diego Chargers -10
I don’t think this game is going to be close at all. The Chargers are hitting on all cylinders and the Titans come into this game limping. I don’t think LT will be stopped and the Chargers will be able to turn the ball over a few times and still win. Don’t count out Jeff Fisher though, because this coach is the Miracle Man. He’ll have his team prepared, but he can’t stop this offense. Chargers 45 Titans 16
