Hi Redskins Fans, Done Trashtalking?

by Cowboys

Fresh off a week of bragging and bozo talk, the Redskins fans are now in memory mode. So, to help them out, I found some breaking YouTube for them. Remember, you don’t talk trash about beating a bunch of Zombies in Cowboys uniforms last week. Don’t tell me about all your heart. Don’t tell me about how hard you tried through so much adversity. This ain’t the place for that crap. But, cheers! Here’s to memories:

(Thanks Jesse for finding the video and coming up with the remark).

BWAAHAHAHA nice video. That one pass was so bad Moss couldn't even find it when he turned around.

He's traveling across the country today so he probably won't be back until tomorrow. I did post a similar comment on Riggo's Rag for what it's worth.

Thanks Gehenna, Now Riggo's Rag needs to follow suit. He hammered him last week and it is disrespectful.

Don't ever say I don't give credit when credit is due. Props to Roy Williams. From Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback: "I think the nicest gestures of the week belong to Dallas safety Roy Williams and the Redskins. Washington listed the late Sean Taylor as their starting safety for Saturday's playoff game. On the other hand, Williams, who was named to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Taylor, said he will have something special for the Taylor family in Honolulu, and this is what it is: He'll switch from his uniform number, 31, and wear Taylor's number, 21, for the game. A brilliant idea and nice tribute to the memory of a man who's been an inspiration to players and people in and out of the Washington organization."

You're a good man, Joseph.

Thank you, Gehenna for the comment. Perhaps I was a little blunt about it. I was wrong about the Redskins players and organization, and only based that post off of three postgame interviews done with Redskin players. I apologize.

I just made a comment about it on Riggo's Rag.  For the record.http://riggosrag.com/2008/01/05/oh-well-good-season/#comment-515

Now I want to write a post on Riggo's rag about it. I certainly never shied away from it and mentioned it several times today to people.  There were also articles in the Washington Post talking about how the players were taking the loss with a certain amount of perspective.  I think you're giving the Redskins a serious disservice if you think that they used his tragedy only as motivation.  Yes, the commentators go a little crazy over it, but the team and the players have handled it with dignity.  I've been to all the home games this year at Redskins stadium and I watched the funeral;  to accuse them of taking some sort of advantage of this tragedy is not only ignorant but it's grotesque.   Before you Cowboys fans start criticizing me on any of this, just remember how you felt when Eagles fans cheered at Michael Irvin's neck injury and recognize that picking on us over this would be much MUCH worse than that.  Please don't lower yourself to that level.   Joe Gibbs is an honest man who might get a bit preachy, but he's utterly sincere in his faith.   The players and even the owner Dan Snyder were utterly sincere in their actions too.  If you didn't like the comments, blame the media not the Redskins.

They won by 21 last week. All eerie.

Even on Riggo’s Rag you will not find any reference of the Redskins’
losing by 21, and you will definately NOT see a post written about the
spiritual significance of losing by 21.sorry.

How about this one Dan...The Redskins lost by 21. There wasn't a spiritual reference by the announcers. You can't have it both ways. Why couldn't the media and the Redskins say something along the lines of "We lost the game today, but Sean Taylor was still present. We lost by 21, he kept all of our players healthy, and allowed us to play well." OHOK. It's only divine intervention when the result is a win. When it is a loss, we forget the dead and move on. What a bunch of garbage coverage. Even on Riggo's Rag you will not find any reference of the Redskins' losing by 21, and you will definately see a post written about the spiritual significance of losing by 21. What a bunch of garbage. Sean deserves better.

Good point Joseph. It is why I said the refs were bagging the game because of Taylor. His name was invoked so much I thought it was his funeral. It was annoying, and kind of absurd.
Kristen, I always have fun here.

No gehenna, you just botched a field goal. Sheesh....you even want to play that way?

The irritating thing was hearing Cris Collinsworth talk about Sean Taylor's spiritual presence at the game. When Landry intercepted Hasselback's pass, Cris mentioned that Sean Taylor must have been in Landry's ear talking to him. OK, well where was Sean the rest of the game? Stop using his death as a puff piece and call the game, Cris. I didn't hear any Redskins player say "Thanks Sean for letting us play hard today, even though the result was not a win". Quit trying to his memory as newfound motivation. Let Sean Taylor rest in peace and leave him alone!

I hope these comments are in good fun. Redskins fans are classy....

I'll be the first to praise the Seahawks for the win.  Even though we had them on the ropes for a little while, they were ultimately the better team.  They also seem to have our number, having kicked us out of the playoffs in two of the last three years.   But at least we didn't botch a winning field goal attempt against them at the last second or anything.  THAT would have really sucked.
